Description

ABACO apartment is a 2nd & 3rd floor apartment with stunning views of the ocean from every room. The lounge opens up onto a balcony with BBQ and the master bedroom has a balcony with sun lounger. It sits within a group of nine apartments. Access to the beach is through a gate on the property. We have manned security between 7.00 pm and 7.00 am and private secured parking should you wish to rent a car. We are 10 mins from the airport and 5 mins from Breezes, Sandals and Melia and Baha Mar
 
The space
Hop on the #10 bus 5 mins to any of these resorts Breezes, Sandals and Melia where you can buy day passes to make use of their facilities for the day. Also 5 mins away is Baha Mar the largest casino in the Caribbean
We are on the main tourist bus route no need to hire a car, $1.25 and 20 mins takes you all along the main tourist route with all the important places of interest along the way and into the historic downtown area of Nassau
If you're feeling adventurous, experience some amazing snorkeling right in front of the property and remember to be outside in time for those amazing sunset views that we are named after, they are simply breathtaking, we have the perfect location to witness the green flash as the sun sets over the ocean, something considered to be a sign of good luck to witness and believed by some cultures to be a "Glimpse of Paradise"
In our garden area we have a swing and playhouse that has recently been remodeled and fitted out with a full kitchen, with parents in mind; we have a comfortable patio set allowing parents to wait in comfort while their food is being prepared and cups of tea are made.
Nesbitts, a small local restaurant is located right across the road, offers great local Bahamian food, and some good old-fashioned music is guaranteed from their very popular jukebox, a short 5 min walk is the Blue Sail & Deck Restaurants both very popular
Over the festive season I only take bookings for a weeks stay starting 16th Dec - 6th Jan.

If you’re here to relax, a long stretch of sandy beach can be accessed through a gate at Sunset Cove stepping right out onto where you can lay in the sand or take a dip in the turquoise blue ocean. Alternatively, chill out in one of our hammocks under a palm tree on our sandy sun deck with a cocktail and let the world drift by. We have picnic tables and barbecues available for your use and beach toys available to keep the little ones occupied. On the sun deck steps lead down to the ocean where guests can make use of our 4 kayaks or try our sea hammocks which are very popular or hire a jet ski right from the steps.
 
Other things to note
Further details will be sent to you before your arrival regarding access to the apartments and the opportunity to pre-book your taxi with a stop to shop for groceries en route to Sunset Cove

Great Location


Great location, access to the beach was perfect. Felt safe at Sunset Cove. Opportunity to mix with the locals was fun. Getting around was interesting. We used the jitney bus several times mostly to go downtown to the straw market area. Very affordable and easy to get on and off. $1.25 no matter how long you ride. Getting any further than that on bus you have to walk a few blocks then hop on a different bus. I would recommend a taxi at that point. We used a few of them. Very reliable, but can get expensive. We also rented a car for a few days, that was challenging bc they drive on the left side of the road and no posted speed limits. But we had fun driving and it was convenient. The only negative for us was that the apartment, Abaco, had no extra blankets. Just thin quilts on each bed with a sheet. And the beds downstairs were very firm.

Amazing sunsets


Positives-Amazing sunsets, waves hitting the rocks, right along the sea front. Quiet location. Kids enjoyed Kayaks and Hammocks. Only stayed two nights so ideal for us. We had to delay our stay from Aug 18to April 19 and that was very easy. Great space over two floors especially for teenagers-WiFi excellent. Taxi charged us $45 from airport via supermarket to villa. Used BBQ both nights. Negatives-Honestly bear in mind the cost of the villa it did not bother us but if staying longer the broken glass panel, kitchen cupboards with broken runners/handles, Fridge noisy, TV not working decor old etc. I didn’t meet the host while I was there, I did message her while there with no reply so later knock at her door where I did meet her husband. They Airbnb page said Jet skis came to the beach but when asked he said not for awhile which was disappointing as that was a big influence on booking this villa. The phone no given was out of service too! He told me oh they change all the time & to bus to another beach! I think I must of caught him at a bad time!

Nice located apartment


Nice located apartment, we rented 2 rooms, one room was not very clean on the ground (sand,rocks left), the other one was clean. Beds were cosy and clean. I guess for the price you can`t really complain ;), but you can see, that the apartment is getting older. To Mary and Peter: Very great hosts, communication is very good and they give you a lot of tips (in a book-version), where you can eat and dine. We would go there again ;

This place is a is great if you want a good bang for your buck. My one concern is it is further away from restaurants and points of interest than I realized. I would highly suggest renting a car if you will be staying here.
