Description

Immaculate, year-round 3 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront home on 7 1/2 acres with private pier overlooking Muscongus Bay & islands. We built the Guesthouse in 1996 and furnished it lovingly.  Antiques, Orientals, cathedral ceilings, gleaming wide pine floors & skylights, along with top of the line mattresses & appliances including single jacuzzi tub provide a very comfortable setting for an unforgettable vacation.  Wake to the nostalgic scent of fresh salt air & the plaintiff call of seagulls. Watch the occasional local fisherman check his pots for lobster from the elevated sun deck, spot the family of seals on Haystack Island or see the resident Ospreys nesting with the guest house binoculars. Use the two sit on top kayaks, two sit in kayaks, (a total of 4!) or take the rowboat provided to explore the endless coves and islands. Take advantage of our large take one/leave one library to read on the deck which is complete with patio furniture, gas grille and magnificent views. Later enjoy a cocktail on your private pier as the ducks and seals swim & the tides change below.

And that's just the beginning... you haven't even left the property!
The downstairs living room has beautiful & comfortable seating, a large picture window & the TV/VCR/DVD. Off this is the double bedroom with private bath. Upstairs the great room has a mix of antique & new furnishings where you can enjoy the cd stereo & the panoramic view of boats, islands and spruce trees thru huge French doors that lead out to the 2nd floor deck. The kitchen is large, bright & well equipped. The master bedroom has a stately queen antique four-poster bed & the main bath has the jacuzzi tub, separate shower & skylights. Upstairs the protected loft holds two comfortable twin beds. It is a truly beautiful & restorative vacation home. Although there are beds for more people, we are limiting the number of Guests to a very strict 4 people.  This way you can choose which of the bedrooms would best suit you, and will assure you of many years of a wonderful vacation in a well appointed and carefully kept home

The nearby Farnsworth Museum is famous for its collection by American artists, & the Transportation Museum has the first Ford Mustang ever built!

We are only 30 minutes from Camden and Rockland to the North and 30 minutes south will bring you to Damariscotta, Pemaquid and the Boothbay region. Fine dining, world class golf, museums, festivals, concerts, the opera house, schooner trips, hiking, biking, & fabulous antiquing are all only a decision away. Waldoboro itself has an active summer playhouse/theater and the local pier in Friendship is only minutes away where you can buy succulent lobster fresh off the boat. Or on vacation, why not treat yourself to an organized clambake on the beach where all the work & cleanup is done for you!  We have compiled an extensive list of activities and ideas, complete with phone numbers, etc. that is available at the guest house. Included in your rental is the use of 4 separate kayaks, (2 sit-on-top, 2 regular sit in) and a 14 ft. aluminum row boat.

Maine Coastal Paradise

This property is nothing short of spectacular! Its hard to take your eyes off the view. An ideal location for relaxing, kayaking, exploring and a great starting point for many popular day trips. Close to wonderful harbor towns like Camden, Boothbay and Damariscotta and a day trip to Acadia. Our whole family loved the kayaks and spent many hours exploring the bay and islands, several times with the company of some friendly, curious seals. Watching the lobsterman pull traps, while I was catching mackerel nearby in a kayak was a great experience also. We also befriended a local lobsterman, who had a few traps near the pier and checked them in his smaller boat from his nearby house. He was very friendly and would sell us lobsters fresh out of the traps at a price below wholesale! We never ate so much lobster in one week! (I left his name and number in the guest book, enjoy!) The property has a really great remote, private feeling about it, but not too remote, with homes nearby through woods. One thing that really struck us was the peaceful quiet (even more so, I\'m sure, after our after our teenagers left.) Other than the occasional lobster boat, it was rare to hear other man made noise, even a car or a plane. Just the breeze, a seagull or a crow. The owners could not be more friendly or accommodating, thank you so much Suzanne and Francesco for sharing this piece of Maine coast paradise with us, we can\'t wait to return!

Summer Breeze!

What a beautiful spot! There was always a beautiful breeze coming off the water that was just perfect for this hot summer. The area was perfect for kayaking. The house was beautiful with lots of room for all of us.

Amazing!

My husband George and I had a chance to get away and we happened to choose this wonderful, amazing place. Really, it couldn\'t have been better. The house is very clean and comfortable with beautiful furnishings and every detail for a vacation away from home is thought of. We loved having coffee on the deck every morning in the sun and watching the seagulls and the Bald eagles. The ducks are beautiful but had to \"duck\" under the water when the bald eagles came too close! These are the first bald eagles we ever saw up close. Rather exciting. The lobster boats were interesting and fun to watch and we saw one woman lobster woman with her dog, pulling traps every other day just in front. The provided binoculars let us watch just how it works. We enjoyed lazy days, some hikes in the area, good food, reading on the deck, a few short kayak excursions, (we saw the seals!) and really feel like we got the rest we needed. Such a special place. I am smiling thinking of it all. We will certainly be back!

Beautiful views, lovely house, great waterfront and private dock

We had a wonderful experience at the Guest house. We wanted peace and quiet and to be away from the hustle-bustle and this home was perfect. The house is much larger than expected, beautifully furnished and clean as a whistle. We ate our meals out so didn\'t use the kitchen except for snacks. But for someone who does cook - the kitchen has everything you could possibly want for staying in.

Beautiful, Peaceful Location

The location is perfect if you want to relax and get away from it all. The house is well-equipped for doing your own cooking and so you can spend time eating out on the deck watching the water. But the best activity here is to take a kayak and go out and explore the waterways.
