About James G. BendickWe've been happily married since 1989, with one (1) Daughter to carry on our heritage. Our jobs and associated line of work are exciting, as between us we cover engineering, aviation and interior design. Our long term plans are to eventually retire to the Keys with our Condo being our primary residence. As such, we are always renovating and updating our Condo to include painting and new appliances to reflect the importance of our commitment to keeping our Condo in superior condition and beautifully decorated to reflect the Keys ambiance.James G. Bendick chose TavernierMy Parents owned at Ocean Pointe in the 90s and after many trips there when our Daughter was in her early years, we fell in love with the Property and vowed that one day we would own therewell, in the early Summer in 2007, we followed through with our promise to each other and purchased our Condo at Ocean Pointe.
Owner DOES accept payment through Personal Check, Bank Certified Check, and PAYPAL.
Credit Cards are NOT accepted at this time
Cleaning Fee - $125.00
12.5% Tax is applied and required to BOTH Rental and Cleaning Fees.
Reservation/Security Deposit - $500.00.
PLEASE NOTE - Reservation Deposit required immediately to hold reservation. Upon taking occupancy, Reservation Deposit becomes the Security Deposit. Once the Guest(s) depart and the Condo cleaned and inspected, the Deposit is returned one (1) to (2) days.
Owner's business plan and overall business approach:
1) Upon receipt of an Inquiry, an Estimate of Expenses is prepared documenting requested dates of occupancy and rental rates; all fees noted with special attention toward the Deposit and what it covers and when it will be returned.
- If able, my perferred approach is to call the potential Guest to answer any and all questions that they may have.
2) The Estimate of Expenses is emailed to the potential Guest for their review and concurrance (verbal or email depending if we communicate via phone or email). If at any time there are questions or concerns, the potential Guest is strongly encouraged to contact me for clarification. At this point, assuming the "potential guest" now becomes our "official guest" and has agreed with the Estimate of Expenses....
3) Along with concurring with the Estimate of Expenses, the Reservation/Security Deposit is immediately required inorder to secure the Guest's requested dates of occupancy.
4) Once the Reservation/Security Deposit is received, the "Availability Calendar" will be blocked out for their requested dates of occupancy.
5) Simultaneously, I will prepare our Written Agreement (kind of like a mini-contract), that documents the specific components of the Estimate of Expenses and adds "dos and don'ts" for the condo....for instance - no pets, no smoking, cancellation policies,etc.. The Written Agreement will be emailed to the Guest.
6) The Guest will review their Written Agreement and if no questions, sign, date it and return to me via email. If they do have questions, as with the Estimate of Expenses, they are encouraged to contact me as soon as possible for clarification.
7) Approximately 2 weeks prior to the Guest's date of occupancy, the Guest will provide their FINAL payment.
8) Upon receipt of BOTH the Guest's FINAL Payment AND their signed copy of their Written Agreement, the Guest will be provided:
- The Lockbox Code allowing access to the Front Door's key located in the subject lock box.
- Information regarding entering Ocean Pointe Suites and maneuvering to our Building; security code for complementary WIFI in our Condo, as well as additional items within the Condo.

We have stayed here many times in other units and this one by far has been the nicest. Freshly renovated and super clean.
Beautiful place, very well maintained. The condo was clean and updated. The pool\'s atmosphere was very relaxing and every guest was friendly. The only downside was that whoever worked one the property started the work too early for us to sleep in and relax in the morning. It started to get pretty loud and noisy before 8 am.
We had a lovely experience! The unit is freshly renovated after Irma. All the repairs to the complex are coming along nicely. Amazing pool and poolside bar. Owner kept good communication with us throughout and made sure we were satisfied. Very positive experience. Would come back again!
What a great place to stay! Beautifully decorated, clean and so comfortable! Definitely the first place I\'ll look for availability on my next trip to the Keys!
Condo was perfect!! Very clean and had everything we needed. Located between Key Largo and Islamorada. Condo located close to pool. Most of staff very friendly...security mainly :) . Owner was very quick to respond and was very friendly. Had a great few days!!! Would highly recommend staying here!
This condo will not disappoint!! My family of 5 stayed at Jim\'s condo in Ocean Points this past week. First, Jim is SO easy to work with and SO helpful. He thoughtfully recommended places and activities. My family has rented homes and condos through VRBO for 14 years. Second, this place was the best. So CLEAN and organized! Jim and his wife have done an amazing job of anticipating the needs of vacation renters. The best I have seen. The Ocean Point resort is very clean and nicer than the pictures look as well. I would stay here again in heartbeat!! Stop looking, just stay here.
We had four adults stay in this condo for four nights. Everything was very clean and exactly as the pictures showed. Both of the bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious and having the washer and dryer was very convenient after riding the jet skis one morning. Jim even provided the laundry detergent for our stay. Jim was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had while planning our trip. We enjoyed both of the balconies in the condo .... how nice to sit and read and enjoy the breezes off the ocean. One evening we walked over to happy hour at the Ocean Pointe Marina and enjoyed the ocean views and breezes while we sat by the marina. We went to the sea turtle hospital, drove to Key West for a day and watched the Friday evening sunset while we were there, enjoyed a jet ski ride, and rode the glass bottom boat in Key Largo. We ate most of our meals outside by the water at many different places in the Keys and enjoyed each and every one of them. We found the condo to be a very convenient location for our day trips in the Keys. As many people before us have said, we had a wonderful vacation in Jim\'s condo and we can\'t wait to come back. Thank you Jim for everything you did to make our stay in the Keys a truly memorable vacation!!!
We chose this condo based upon previous reviews. There are a lot of condos available in Ocean Pointe. If this one is available snatch it up! James was wonderful to work with. He and his wife have obviously spent time and effort in their condo. He gave many recommendations for restaurants and activities. The pool was lovely did not spend much time on the \"beach\". We had two couples in the bedrooms and two teenagers on the pullout couch. We didn\'t spend much time inside as the weather was perfect! We would definitely visit again!
My husband and I have stayed at the condo complex 3 times now and Jim\'s condo is by far the nicest! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful condo with us! Dealing with Jim was very easy and he was always quick to respond to my inquires and even quicker to return our security deposit. Once we got to the condo, we found it very clean and it was exactly as the pictures show. We immediately felt at home and relaxed. Every morning we enjoyed our coffee on the balcony while watching the boats leave for their day of fishing. Each evening we enjoyed a drink on the balcony watching the sun go down and all the boats coming back in. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need from making a small breakfast to a nice dinner. We used the grills in the picnic area almost every day. They are very close/convenient to the condo and the picnic tables are nice. While my husband grilled I just soaked up the sun at the picnic table and enjoyed the beautiful flowers and palm trees. The pool is very close to their building, which makes it a very short walk to get there. The pool area is really nice, you can tell it was recently redone, as well as the hot tub. The bed was extremely comfortable; and it is nice with the balcony right there so you can see the ocean from your bed. My husband just loved the large shower in the master bath. They did a great job remodeling the bathroom. The appliances are all high end and worked great. It was nice to throw in a load of laundry while sitting on the balcony and switching it when I came back in for another cup of coffee. Very convenient! I just can\'t say enough about the condo as it was extremely hard to leave and face reality that we were coming back home again! Wish I was still sitting on the balcony watching the tide come in! I can not say enough about James and Julie and their condo. From the moment I requested the rental things could have not been easier. The unit is exactly as the pictures show. It was very clean and neat. There were four of us in our party and I personally think six people would be tight, but that really depends on who you are and how you travel. The grounds were nice and everyone that worked at Ocean Pointe were every friendly and helpful. James provided us with a list of recommendation that proved to be very helpful. This was just a quick trip, but we are already looking forward to returning for a longer stay. Thank you again for sharing your little slice of paradise with us!
