Welcome to SeaGlass Cottage in East Boothbay! Nestled between a steep hillside and perched on the edge of the water, SeaGlass offers you a unique and secluded setting that is second to none. Here you will be surrounded by stunning beauty and immersed in nature. To the north is Perch Cove which is renowned as a striped bass fishing hot spot. Facing west, the sun sets directly in front of the cottage right over Perch Island. It is spectacular! Look south and you will enjoy panoramic views of Linekin Bay with its abundance of lobster and sail boats, and you might even spot our Osprey, some loons or a seal or two.
There is an incredible 200' long deep water dock with a large sundeck and sitting area that has a swim ladder, and can accommodate anything from a kayak to a large boat. At low tide there is a large 250' private rocky beach area (this area is underwater at high tide...so please don't think white sandy beach), that is great for beach combing, digging for clams or catching crabs. Bring your water shoes!
 
The cottage itself loaded with charm and filled with nooks and crannies. It features an open floor plan with high pitched exposed beam ceilings, and is covered in wainscotting. Seaglass was professionally decorated and features high quality linens, towels and area rugs.There is also high speed internet, WIFI and a 32' HD TV. The main bedroom, on the second floor, is open to the first floor and is accessed by a small spiral staircase. It has beautiful pumpkin pine floors, a high pitched ceiling and great waterviews. The second bedroom is accessed by a ladder and is a small sleeping loft. It has a queen bed and two small dressers. There is also a screened-in porch which has a daybed, 4 cushioned chairs, a dining table and fantastic views. The bathroom is very small, has a small door and has a shower only. The shower is a little larger than a typical camp shower but has a low ceiling. It might be uncomfortable for tall persons.
 
This location provides a fantastic opportunity to get away from it all and relax, surrounded by some of the most beautiful views anywhere. But, if you are looking for more action, it is only 4 miles to Boothbay Harbor, which is home to many fine dining and casual restaurants, shops and galleries. It is only 3 miles to the popular Ocean Point where you can relax on the rocks and take in the breathtaking views. One of the areas most scenic hiking trails, The Linekin Preserve, is only 2/10ths of a mile away. Also nearby is the Boothbay Country Club, the Maine Botanical Gardens, and numerous boat excursions including whale watches, schooners tours and trips to Monhegan Island and Ram Island Light House. It is also a great home base for daytrips, with much of the mid-coast's favorite attractions within an hour's drive.
 
***IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: Please note that our beautiful seasonal cottage is set near the edge of the Bay at the bottom of a 75 yard long hill.This unique location makes for a spectacular and very private setting, but does require a walk down the unpaved hill from the parking area up top. For this reason, access to the cottage for those with mobility issues would be extremely difficult.
 
The setting would also be inappropriate for young children, due to some steep drop offs.
 
Parking is limited and there is no room for RV's large trucks or trailers.
 
The large dock, known locally as 'Daddy Long Legs' is also home to a local lobsterman's skiff and the owner's motor boat, who occasionally walk by the cottage to access these watercraft.
