Description

We would love to have you come and enjoy our home built off our family farm.  We are in the heart of Amish country, making our house a perfect location for families visiting Lancaster County.  With Country Housewares (locally called Amish Walmart) 200 ft down the road, the traffic on our back road consists of more buggies than cars.   The quiet, peaceful setting will facilitate a relaxing stay.  From our front lawn, we have a beautiful view overlooking our Amish neighbor's chicken and produce farm.  We are only minutes from the popular Lancaster towns of Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse.
 
Our house includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms.  Our large upstairs kitchen, with the small basement kitchen, provides place to accommodate a larger family or group. Our full size basement is a great place for family games, quilting bees, scrap-booking, etc.  
 
With our parent's cornfield behind the house, our backyard is a quiet place to enjoy the night sky or sit around a small campfire.
 
Local produce, fresh eggs, and bake goods can be purchased a mile down the road at our Amish neighbor's roadside stand.  Also, children will love the Hayloft Candle Barn's petting zoo and their creamy home made ice cream.

Shannon and I were born and raised in Lancaster County. I was raised on the 8th generation family farm that borders our house. As for Shannon, all her growing up years were spent on her parent's chicken farm only five miles down the road. So as high-school sweethearts, Lancaster County was all we ever knew until 2016 when God led us to teach at a Bible College in southern Indiana. Now with our seven children, we spend the school term in Indiana and come back "home" to Lancaster for the summer months. So when we're gone, our house is open for others to enjoy!!!

Perfect location


We took our annual family vacation to Leola this year. I can’t say enough great things about this location. We had a total of 8 adults, more than enough room for everyone! We woke up every morning to the absolute beautiful scenery and the quiet! We took day trips to Hershey, NYC, and Penn State. The location was ideal. The pictures are spot on of the cleanliness and roominess of this house. Our hosts were absolutely amazing and provided fresh granola, bread and jam! Also was able to get fresh milk and visit the neighbors! Perfection!

Great home surrounded by beautiful farm scenery


This home is close to Kitchen Kettle Village for shopping, Lapp Valley Farms for delicious ice cream treats, and a few grocery stores, and not too far from Lancaster outlets. The house was clean and the rural setting allowed for a relaxing weekend. Lightly traveled surrounding roads made for great walks and bike rides. We were unable to use the firepit due to the weather, but enjoyed sitting in the screened-in porch watching the thunderstorms roll through and the colorful sunsets. We met Chris and Shannon and they are very friendly and accommodating. A loaf of homemade bread, a bottle of fresh milk, and a jar of jam were left for us to enjoy. Plenty of room both upstairs and down, allowing for privacy and comfort. I highly recommend this renting this house!!!!

Our trip was amazing and the house was exactly what I was praying for. There was plenty of space for our group of 9 people with space to spare. The amenities in the house were excellent and the fresh milk, loaf of bread and homemade jam was definitely appreciated. We had a great time flying kites, swinging on the tire swing and enjoyed the outdoors. Everything about the house was great and comfortable. I\'ve been traveling to Lancaster for several years and by far this was one of my top favorite stays. Our group was truly blessed by this home; it was both welcoming and peaceful the moment we walked in. Thank you for adding more wonderful memories to our group.
