Description

Poponi Cottage is a private studio apartment 100 paces from a mile-long, deserted pink-sand beach. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Poponi is located on the second floor with a garage beneath. Water views are available from the balcony. Poponi Cottage shares a 4 acre beachfront estate with Poponi House. The house and cottage have good privacy from each other. There is great snorkeling off our beach! Two beachfront restaurant/bars are walking distance down the beach: Unique Village, 5 minutes, and La Bougainvillea 15 minutes.
 
Poponi’s kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, blender, and toaster. The sleeping area is a queen size bed and a full bath with walk-in shower. The comfortable living area has a TV, DVD, cable & WiFi. The double glass doors open to a balcony with chairs, grill and outdoor dining table. There is an outdoor shower downstairs. The cottage is fully air conditioned.
 
Poponi Cottage is centrally located near the settlement of North Palmetto Point which has several grocery shops, pharmacy and restaurants. The historic town of Governor's Harbour, the main town on the island, is a ten minute drive from the property. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, banks with ATM’s, gift shops, liquor stores, dive shop, bakery, and half a dozen excellent restaurants. One or another of the restaurants/bars will have live music almost every night of the week. You can also buy the fresh catch of the day to grill at home from the town dock.

Heavenly Tranquillity


Hoping to avoid the noise and good-time frenzy of typical big-resort holidays, my partner and I chose to spend a week at Poponi cottage. The studio, containing kitchen, bathroom and bedroom in one large, airy room, was charming and well-appointed, as well as spotless and private. The exceptionally beautiful and secluded beach was a stone\'s throw away, providing us with long walks across coral sands, energetic swimming, and the frequent impression that we were the only people there. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for beauty, comfort, and memorable pleasures.
