This beautifully restored and modernized estate home of the late Sir Roland Symonette, first Premier of the Bahamas, retains its original elegance while enjoying modern comforts and conveniences. Hearts Ease, as Sir Roland named it, sits on a hill above a beautiful pink-sand beach. Hearts Ease enjoys spectacular 50-mile, 180-degree views of the beach and ocean below. It’s a short 100-yard walk down the hill to the beach.
 
At the entrance of the villa, you are greeted by three sets of French doors that open into a vast Great Room looking out over the ocean. The 16 foot ceilings, lovingly restored paneled walls, fireplace, and antique chandeliers combine with the views to make a stunning first impression. To the right is the Master Bedroom with private deck, large en suite bath and queen-size canopy bed, a spacious and delightful room.
 
To the left of the Great Room is the kitchen, fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and sliding glass doors to the patio. In addition to the Master Suite, Hearts Ease has two guest bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. Each guest bedroom has access to a private outdoor sitting area, closet, and queen bed. Hearts Ease has a powder room convenient to the Great Room, and a large and fully equipped laundry room with washer and dryer.
 
The extensive outdoor living space includes a large screened porch, a beautiful low-walled patio of the same size, and a rooftop deck, all with spectacular ocean views. A gas grill is available for outdoor cooking. After a day on the beach, enjoy our private outdoor shower. Heart Ease is beautifully landscaped with tropical flowers, palm trees, and fruit and nut trees.
 
Hearts Ease is just 50 yards from a large and lovely pool shared with several other homes. Just past it is our pink sand beach. A short walk down the beach takes you to Sky Beach Club's excellent restaurant and bar, which has poolside service all day long. Other nearby fine dining includes Cocodimama, five minutes by car, and Tippys, 10 minutes away. The picturesque town of Governors Harbour, less then three miles away, has 19th century homes and churches, grocery stores, banks with ATMs, gift shops, liquor stores, dive shop, bakery, restaurants, and a restored historic library.
 
Hearts Ease is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Amenities include air conditioning throughout, WIFI, landline phone, satellite TV, DVD player with video library, stereo system with CD player, video games, library of books, board games, children’s toys, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, and snorkel gear. For babies we have a crib and high chair.

Perfect Spring Break


From the process to book Hearts Ease to the actual incredible home itself, we thoroughly had an amazing experience here. Miss Brenda was waiting for us upon our arrival and the house was immaculate. This place is so comfortable and well appointed that we did not want to leave. While there are some nice restaurants around you have everything you need to prepare great meals at home. We also rented a car from Brenda\'s son, Kean, who met us at the airport and directed us over to the house. Don\'t miss their great BBQ on Friday and Saturday! The beach at Heart\'s Ease is great and was pretty calm the week we were there. Crystal clear water and virtually no one else around. Incredible! Can\'t wait to go back.

Simply Beautiful and Beyond Our Expectations


We can\'t say enough about this island, the people and the home. Matt and Tara were so responsive when we booked and provided us with great information ahead of our trip. Heart\'s Ease was incredible. The views from the house and the roof deck are amazing as the sea changes colors throughout the day and the stars dance at night. We explored the entire island going as far south as Lighthouse Beach (amazing) and north to Spanish Wells for a boat tour of sandbars, sea turtles, swimming pigs and sting rays. There is so much to see and do. The best part was coming home to this luxurious home with it\'s high-end finishes and wonderful space for relaxing, cooking fresh fish and lobster. You will not be disappointed!

Best of the Best in Eleuthera!


Heart’s Ease tops our list for beauty, comfort and location! We rented Heart’s Ease with our family, 4 adults and 2 children (4 and 6) and it couldn\'t have been more perfect for our 7-day stay. It was impeccably clean, spacious and well equipped, with a convenient location just north of Governor’s Harbour. Brenda, the caretaker, could not have been more accommodating and helpful. (Don’t miss Brenda and Billy’s BBQ on Friday or Saturday in James Cistern.) Renting a car is a must! We were out and about every day discovering the beautiful beaches, meeting wonderful people and finding good places to eat. We did two excursions during our weeks stay. We loved sailing with Captain Bob Knaus, Eleuthera Sailing Adventures, from Bottom Harbor Beach to Man Island. We also had a wonderful adventure with Bahamas Ocean Safaris and Captain James Dunham, snorkeling with sea turtles and manatees, exploring hidden beaches and Sand Dollar Island. We would stay at Heart’s Ease again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to anyone we know!

Excellent rental!


Beautiful location and amazing house! Everything was as advertised. Enjoyed being next door to the Sky Beach Club restaurant/bar. Would definitely rent this house again.
