Hunt Vacation House is a beautiful family sized home with easy and private Guadalupe River access. This is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Texas Hill Country. We’re ten minutes west of Hunt along one of the prettiest stretches of country road in Texas – convenient to summer camps and off-season activities.
 
We're high enough on the hill to have tree top views of the Guadalupe River Valley and just a short hike down the trail to the home owner association river park with canoes, kayaks, barbecue and rope swing. There is a private dam just below the park so the water stays high even in the driest summers.
 
The house will sleep nine: There is a queen bed and private bathroom with tub in the master. The upstairs bedroom has its own balcony and private bathroom with shower. The middle two bedrooms have a trundle bed (2 singles - great for kids), a single and double bed and share a bath with laundry room.
 
The dining area seats eight – six at the table and two at the breakfast bar. The family room has a high beam ceiling and a glass paned door with sidelights to enjoy the view and let the breeze in. If you can’t leave your technology at home there is wireless internet and satellite TV. The house has every amenity needed for a comfortable stay (oven, fridge, dishwasher, fresh linens, etc). Nothing extra is needed; just bring some groceries, a bathing suit and free time to enjoy it!
 
Outside we have two spacious decks with Hill Country views. Drink your morning coffee on the side deck and watch the sun rise. Enjoy an evening glass of wine while star gazing on the front deck. Guests often see deer and fox passing through the yard. There is a hammock, a porch swing, and outside eating area with gas grill.
 
Small dogs considered individually: We understand that pets are a part of the family. At the same time, we have to keep in mind that guests with allergies cannot tolerate any trace of a pet in the house. Dogs weighing less than 20 pounds will be allowed on prior approval only with a pet charge of $10 per day per pet, $500 refundable pet deposit, and a non-refundable pet cleaning fee of $50. No cats. Pet fees will be due via an additional payment request if you use the Instant Booking option.
 
We just got a wireless extender - Verizon & ATT cell service is good at the house, but not at the river park or on the road. No guarantee though, this is the country.

Danny spent a few bachelor years living here full time. Michelle tried to live in Girdwood, but couldn't handle the daily commute to Anchorage. It's been a ski locker/weekend get away since we bought a house in Anchorage in 2005. We still get out to Girdwood every chance we get, and if you aren't using the condo, chances are we will be. Great place on the river!! Very clean! Great place


Our family loved it. Family of 4... great access to river. Kids loved kayaking to the flats..great place to hang out! Back yard was great with fire pit at night under the TX stars. Highly recommend..

Perfect getaway, secluded just a nice place


Really a great place just above the river. It felt very private, and we loved the outdoor space. The river and surrounding area are all pretty quiet, so it was easy to relax and just enjoy. Didn’t need to contact the owners for anything, but they made everything easy. Even though we like to vary our destinations, we’ll definitely consider coming back! Thanks for an awesome few days!

Great home for families and children. Wonderful water park.


This home is on a hill and surrounded by trees, making it a very private location, which was one of the reasons we chose it. The river and water park are just down the hill in the back yard. The home is fully furnished with everything you could possibly need. The beds are quite comfortable and there is an endless supply of linens. The home was meticulously clean when we arrived. The living area is very comfortable and cozy. This is a great home to get away from it all!

Great vacation


We had a great time at this house, it\'s a very quiet place, the house is beautiful and well equipped with everything you might need. They even have drinking water for you, that was nice. The highlight of the visit was the house and the surrounding areas, the river is at a short distance, but is too shallow for us, we like to swim a lot, it might have been the time of the year or the lack of rain, nevertheless, we were able to enjoy the water, don\'t get me wrong. We\'ll definitely go back perhaps in the winter.

Quiet, peaceful, nice river access!


We loved our stay here. Saw hummingbirds, deer, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. We felt more secluded than we actually were. The split floorplan allowed for privacy and extra bathrooms was a plus. The river was a short walk down the hill and extra floats for the river was nice. Would definitely recommend.
