Enjoy beautiful La Paz at its best in Villa Alta Vista, a large three master suite house with beautiful decks and private pool. The house is located on a rise just a short walk from the beach. The world famous "Malecon" boardwalk and seaside boulevard are a few minutes walk from our front door, the center of town is about 20 minutes walk. John Steinbeck’s novel “The Pearl” took place here, and the Malecon’s center is a beautiful sculpture of an oyster with pearl. Enjoy an upscale lifestyle in Alta Vista, with its sweeping decks, ocean and bay views, pool and more. 
 
This house is ideal for exploring the old center, strolling the boardwalk, relaxing on the patios, enjoying sunset drinks and living the life! There is lots to do in La Paz, with the vibrant seaside Malecon boardwalk and beach just steps from the house. (0.2 miles, just far enough so that you don't get the traffic or tourist noise) Enjoy the lively action day and night along the Malecon, Look for the best happy hour deals, try out the wide range of restaurants, from simple Fish Tacos to gourmet upscale but affordable restaurants. You will find La Paz to be more laid back and much less expensive than the Los Cabos area. La Paz is a recognized Eco-Tourism center, with numerous water and land based activities available, from whale and shark watching to reef snorkelling on Espiritu Santo Island to local whale exhibits.  
 
Suitability:  Sleeps up to 8 in bedrooms and on sofas.  No smoking in the house. Children welcome. Pets welcome. Not wheelchair accessible. No loud parties or fireworks! 
 
Minimum stay length is  four days.

Location: Ocean view, at the edge of downtown, 0.2 miles (350m) from bayside Malecon boardwalk 
 
General: The upper level has a sweeping open floor plan, with the living area, dining area and gourmet kitchen opening onto an expansive deck overlooking the city and the bay, with views of the distant mountains. It is THE place to enjoy the sunset with margaritas in hand! 
 
The lower level has three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, the master suite and the foyer have doors opening to the private pool deck. The leather futon in the downstairs alcove can sleep two as well The furniture is sleek, modern and upscale, there are travertine marble floors throughout and high end mini-split air conditioners in all living and sleeping areas. The upper deck has an all-stainless Char-Broil commercial grade propane grill, a nice lounging/seating area, and an outdoor dining area which seats up to 8.  
 
The gourmet kitchen has granite and top end stainless appliances. (Bosch range, GE Profile fridge with ice and double filtered water, so you don't have to bother with big water bottles.)   A second under-counter water filter is located by the sink. The kitchen is well equipped with a coffee maker, blender, microwave, cooking equipment, cutlery, pantry items, etc. A big GE washer and dryer are located in a generous utility room with iron and board on the lower floor.

Air conditioning wall units are located in the upstairs living areas and in all three bedrooms.

Master bedroom: King sized bed with en suite bathroom, huge walk-in closet.

The living room has two large sofas suitable for sleeping and a futon is located in the lower vestibule. Ample extra bedding is provided. 
Please note all bathrooms have showers, not tubs.

Patio: Two private patios. Large table with seating for about 8. Umbrellas. Lounge chairs and wicker sofa and easy chairs. Swimming pool with half bath and shower on the lower patio. 
 
Parking: Two outdoor shaded off-street spots. Adjacent   street parking is amply available in this gated community. 
 
Security: The house is in a small gated community with 24 hour patrols. The community is located in a safe area of town.  
 
Approach: Easy approach along the Malecon bayside road in the downtown area, the community Residence Altus is 0.2 (350m) miles up the Colina del Sol rise. Explicit driving instructions are sent to all guests. 
 
Shopping: Oxxo and Breeze Market convenience stores are located within a few minutes walk. A larger Ley Supermarket is located about 1.5 miles (2km)  from the house. Soriana, WalMart, Chedraui and other big chains are in nearby suburbs, about 10-15 minutes drive away. Lots of other chains and local markets are in the area. You will find that most grocery prices are much lower than in the US. 
 
Nightlife: La Paz has a wide variety of world class restaurants. Since Baja California is the home of the Fish Taco, here are lots and lots of taco stands, which offer inexpensive street food. La Paz also has throbbing  nightspots, mostly along the Malecon. Suggestions on restaurants and other activities are in our guest book reference guide in the house foyer. 
 
What to do: Besides lounging on the beach or patio, it’s easy to fill a week with various activities in the area. Snorkeling, swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, whale and whale shark watching, hiking, mountain climbing, to name a few. There are numerous excursion and equipment rental companies on the Malecon. 
 
Interesting excursions would include a trip to Tecolote and Bolandra beaches, a boating trip to the nature preserve at Espiritu Santo Island, a day trip to see the “Hotel California” and artist colony at Todos Santos, outings to Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo,  and a trip to the pretty town of Las Barriles. For the avid deep sea fisherman, La  Paz has many fishing charter opportunities as well.

Terms & Conditions

Payment may be made by bank transfer, check or PayPal. Detailed payment instructions are sent to all guests upon booking. Bookings made within 60 days of arrival are to be paid in full upon billing. Bookings made more than 60 days before arrival pay half the rental amount upon billing, the balance is due 30 days before arrival.
 
If a guest cancels the reservation more than 60 days before arrival, a refund of 100% is given. If a guest cancels the reservation more than 30 days before arrival, a refund of 50% is given. No refunds if cancellation is within 30 days of arrival.

A one-time cleaning fee of $50 will be charged.
