Description

Hunting Hawk Lodge is a custom built structure reminiscent of the homes the settlers built in the Cades Cove area of the Smokey Mountians National Park. The Lodge is all wood, giving comfort and security to all who visit.

There is one private bedroom with a queen bed and a loft with a queen. With a queen futon in the livingroom the Lodge is a cozy cave for six. There is one bath with a clawfoot tub/shower. There is a telephone for local calls, fully equipped kitchen, hot tub, internet, outdoor grill, although rarely necessary, air conditioning units are installed for the warmer months and yes, if you must ... satellite television with dvd player. Our home has all the flavor of a rustic Appalachian shelter with the added creature comforts our ancestors wanted.

Our land boarders Pisgah National Forest and the North Fork of the French Broad River. The North Fork fishing is truly outstanding. Also we have two stocked ponds if you are just feeling too lazy to walk the extra hundred yards to the river.

PERFECT!!

My son will be joining the Army April 11, he and I wanted to take one last fishing and hiking trip to somewhere we have never been. The search to find a suitable cabin for our venture was exhaustive and difficult (wanted it to be a great experience for the both of us). I can honestly say this was the perfect cabin for our vacation. Brent has every detail mastered from the hot tub, the fire pit, the fully stocked kitchen to provide a \'true\' log cabin experience. We live in Charleston, SC and couldn\'t think of a better way to spend the week than hiking the mountains and fishing the rivers (and ponds). Thanks for your hospitality Brent...we will definately be back!!

Ideal cabin

My fiance and I truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is beautifully secluded. Unlike some places that appear private from the photos, Hunting Hawk is truly to itself and feels like another world while still being a short drive to town or the national parks. The cabin itself is stunning in it\'s build and furnishing, simple yet comfortable. The hot tub is a great addition, too, especially in the cold mountain temperatures. Unfortunately our time was cut short due to extreme temperatures causing the pipes to freeze, but the owner was responsive and helpful. We would definitely love to return in the future.

A beautifully secluded, authentic cabin experience with breathtaking views and quality comfort!

After hours spent searching for just the right cabin (for our first Autumn cabin getaway), we couldn’t have asked for a better choice than this one! This sweet cabin is nestled on a hill in a gorgeous wooded area that overlooks breathtaking mountain views. This cabin is an actual log cabin, with beautiful handcrafted porch and staircase railings both inside and out, an adorable kitchen, a wood burning oven, vaulted ceilings, and gorgeous master room up on a loft. It’s pet friendly, and our sweet Labradoodle has a blast! My favorite part was the hot tub! Pristinely kept and with a perfect view of the mountains. The nearby trails were so fun to hike with our pup, and we didn’t even have to drive to get to them! We did drive about 2 minutes to visit the falls at Living Waters Ministry... and that was most definitely the highlight of the trip. Beautiful cascading falls, bubbling river, amazing trails, and gorges that would make you feel like an ant! The owner of the cabin, Mr. O’Connor, was easily reached for questions and incredibly accommodating. You can tell he takes excellent care of his property. My only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer... we can’t wait wait to return!
