If you\'re beach bums like us, the EOC is perfect! The beach is long, soft, wide, and gorgeous. The condos are very well put together and make the most of the space available. Monkeys, iguanas, and horses roam the field leading to the beach and you\'ll find plenty of crabs on the beach, day and night. There\'s an abundance of restaurants nearby and Manuel Antonio is great hub for adventure. Make sure you go to Nauyaca Falls, my favorite adventure of our two week trip! See if they have the option available where they take you to the falls in the back of the truck. Fer and the rest of the staff go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of. Have them buy groceries fro you ahead of time. We stayed at 4 amazing places in CR, but if we could only choose one to go back to, this would be it!
Heather and Fernando were amazing hosts!!! They helped us with anything that we needed! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an adventurous yet serene getaway!
We stayed at EOC for five days with our adult son in Nov Brook and Fer the concierge were outstanding in their attention to detail and making sure our holiday was Wonderful. Our experience here was A1 Hope To return soon.
Our first trip to Costa Rica and it will not be our last. We traveled with our children (ages 6 & 8) and also with another couple with two children the same ages. We stayed in villas next to one another so the families were together with enough separation and privacy if we wanted it. The splash pools were a hit with the kids as they spent countless hours playing in them before and after the quick walk to the beach out the back gates. The kids also loved the monkeys in the canopy above our outdoor shower and the sloth that was in a tree over the office. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners Shelley one morning and she gave me some background and insight into their vision when they started building the project. I always find that sort for history fascinating. The staff did a very good job keeping the property up and accommodating our needs. The real hero\'s of this property are Brooke and Fernando. From the upfront emails with recommendations and suggestions to clarifications on transportation, currency exchange, etc we felt very prepared for the journey. Upon arrival they provided a welcome orientation and got us settled in after a long day of travel with kids. They were very helpful throughout the stay and help make the property what it is.
This was our second trip to EOC, and it couldn\'t have been more perfect. Our family of four stayed in the \"Air\" villa this time, and we could have easily fit one or two more kids. Air has an outdoor shower attached to the downstairs powder room, and each shower was memorable: purple flowered vines and monkeys swinging through trees high over our heads! We felt perfectly safe and well cared for---Brooke and Fer arranged amazing day trips for us---waterfalls to slide down, beach caves to explore, surfing & zip--line expeditions. But our favorite thing was just hanging at the villa, walking to the market to buy fresh mangos, avocados, pineapples and fish and then cooking up a storm! They recommended the best restaurants, many we could just walk along the beach to access. They arranged a fishing trip for my son and husband, and they caught a huge Schnook and 2 red snappers, which we cooked on the grill, made fish tacos, and had enough to eat all week and share with our friends we made at EOC. It was the best vacation ever, and we already decided that we will rent the whole thing out for my son\'s wedding in the future. Thanks for everything!
We just returned from this wonderful condo. Brooke was amazing. She and her husband Fer are onsite and always available to help us in any way. We were literally just steps to the beach. Monkeys monkeys monkeys were everywhere. Location was outstanding. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. We will be back and thanks again for the wonder lifetime experience. Fernando and Brooke made us feel like family from the minute we arrived at this lovely property. They helped us find great places to eat, set up entertainment as well as delivered a soccer ball to our door. We loved a night with our private chef, the howler monkeys and our own personal hammock. This place was awesome!!!
The hosts, Fernando and Brooke, were super friendly and helpful. The villas are new and filled with great features. We especially liked the private outdoor dining and showers. We had great views of the ocean from our upper deck and master bedroom. Cooking at the villa was convenient and the local restaurants were fantastic.
EOC was such a great place to stay, especially because of Fernando and Brooke. They were there whenever we needed them, they gave us great recommendations for restaurants, they arranged taxis for us, they were always cheerful, they loaned us their boogie boards, and they made us feel incredibly welcome! Pura Vida!
We absolutely loved everything about Espadilla Ocean Club. We loved the accommodation\'s. They were so clean and well designed. The kids loved the horses and monkeys in the back yard! Just a short walk to an amazing beach. The hospitality was beyond our expectation. Brooke and Fernando were wonderful. The owner\'s Shelly & Bobby are also a delight. I will tell all my friends there is not a better place to stay when visiting Costa Rica
Espadilla Ocean Club is a perfect option for those looking for an alternative to a hotel. The home offered enough room to sleep 4 adults comfortably and close proximity to a variety of activities. Although there are several houses on the property, they are situated in such a way to offer great privacy. The access to the beach was right out your back door. The EOC staff (Fernando and Brooke) is wonderful and helped us in planning and coordinating everything. Fernando and Brooke live on site and are always going out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We will certainly be returning to EOC in the future.
We were looking for a getaway for a few nights and happened upon this place online. The reviews convinced us that it was probably a good choice, and the risk of having a terrible time was minimal. We were excited to be totally pleased when we arrived. There are four villas and the managers live right on the property. The staff was just wonderful and so very friendly and helpful. We woke up each morning (the beds were comfortable!) and saw monkeys in the trees. The villas were not large, but the space was very well-designed. The kitchen and living area were downstairs and the bedrooms were upstairs. Each villa was different and the building and decor materials were so pleasing to the eye. It was relaxing to be in a fresh place that was so well thought-out. The grounds were well maintained. Each villa had a small splash pool, very clean, with an outside sitting area covered with a thatched roof. There was no television, but the outside was so enticing, we didn\'t need one. The property was secure and fenced, and about a one minute walk to the beach. There aren\'t any structures between the property and the sand, just about 200 feet of grass, so you really are about as close to the beach as you can get. You can walk one minute, put a beach towel on the sand and watch the sun glow as it sets. It is about a two minute drive to the state park. Lots of restaurants within a five minute drive. We just relaxed, but our daughter and her friend went on a dive, surfed, swam, and rode horses to a waterfall.
This property is absolutely perfect! With ocean views and the beach right out the back door, it\'s great for an adult or a family vacation. The \"home\" is beautifully designed, comfy beds, great showers, very clean and well cared for. To top it off, caregivers Fernando and Brooke are ready and willing to help in any way to welcome you and offer assistance to make your Costa Rican stay a vacation to remember. Ask them to help you book the Jungle Night tour with Brian and the Manuel Antonio park tour with Freddie. You will not be disappointed. Both tours were the highlights of our trip. Of course sitting on the beach at sunset is also hard to beat.
Bobby is \"someone should novels about him\" cool. Shelly makes things happen precise & with grace. You have to redefine power couple, because they are both such happy playful energy --- not the traditional type A\'s. It would be worth sleeping on the floor of a grass hut, just to be tickled by their comfortable fun can-do candor. But no grass huts here! The treetop villas are like walking around in Architectural Digest\'s Awards Issue. Brilliant stylish functionality! & the setting is so impossibly resplendent that my most inspired imaginings of Arcadia & Eden have been demoted to pallid puerile pawings in contrast with the actual wide azure & deep vibrant verdure of the paradise Bobby & Shelly have discovered! If Angels take vacations from heaven, it would be here. Rebecca was our concierge & she arranged & provided what we needed before we knew we needed it. The level of resourceful attentiveness, & meticulously timed comprehensive care that she gave could not be expected of a spoiled billionaire king. All the locals, colorful expats & euphoric tourists, all have their hearts inflated with warm helium of happiness produced by the Pura Vida philosophy. Through, Rebecca, Bobby & Shelly, we met people so instantly inspiring & amazingly talented & mind-amplifyingly interesting that our daydreams have been fueled & ignited to a wonderful conflagration of enthusiasm. I really can not articulate the awe. This is not just a beautiful beach villa at a great rate. This is where magic is possible.
EOC is absolutely gorgeous. The facilities are brand new, beautifully designed villas. Basically every surface in the villas is tile or stone (of course, there are mattresses and plenty of cushions to sleep and sit on). This makes a lot of sense because there will be sand EVERYWHERE when you come in from the beach. There is a fully functioning kitchen, which we used to make breakfast a couple of times. There are two bedrooms of course, and both have reasonably comfortable beds (better than both of the San Jose hotels we stayed at, for sure). There are also two full bathrooms with toilet and shower. Again, all of the fixtures are brand new. There is also a small patio and splash pool. Second, location. You can literally see the beach from the master bedroom window. This, by itself, is amazing. Imagine being able to go to the beach without having to worry about leaving your stuff under an umbrella while you go swimming. Worrying about my stuff is the one thing I always hated about the beach. But having it so close to the villa means you can bring your towel and keys, and nothing else. If you need something else, it\'s a 5 minute walk back. The villas are fairly close together, but I never felt like my privacy was invaded and I never heard noise from other guests. There was some light construction going on during my stay, but the hosts (Bobby and Shelley) were EXTRAORDINARILY accommodating about that. They assured us that they would try to have the construction done while we were away, and they always called to ask our permission before there was any noisy construction going on. I barely noticed it. One of the best parts of our stay at EOC was how helpful the hosts were. Shelley was always available to answer questions and give us recommendations. She obviously cares very much about making sure the guests have a great time. She made some great recommendations for activities (catamaran boat, buggy ride up the mountains to a waterfall, and national park tour) and made arrangements for all of it. The small staff at EOC does a fantastic job keeping the facilities in great shape. If you are like me, you will be amazed how quickly you make a mess of the place. But then I was amazed how thoroughly the staff cleaned up the villa while we were out.
I have visited Costa Rica so many times that I have lost count. I have traveled from Panama up to Nicaragua, staying in every type hotel from small private beach cabinas to large all-inclusive resorts. As I get older, I have been looking for a area and resort to call my Costa home. I finally found it in the EOC. Manual Antonio pretty much has it all. Great restaurants, beautiful beach, awesome National Park, uncrowded surfing and all the tours you could possibly want. The resort is fantastic. The villas are super comfortable and beautify designed. Also, it is right on the beach. Every other house we have rented in Manual Antonio has been up on the hill and we have had to take the car to the beach, where parking can be a bit of an issue. The surfing in Manual Antonio is not as epic as a lot of the Pacific Costa Rican towns, however the lack of crowds and tidal consistency easily makes up for the smaller swell. It is also a great place to learn to surf and you always have the option to travel a few minutes down the road to Dominical where the surf is epic. Lastly, I have to comment on the family that runs the EOC. Bobby and Shelly are wonderful. I would go back just to hang out with them. No matter whether you are looking for solitude or good friends they will have you dialed in from the moment you get there.
I cannot say enough about the convenient location and physical condition of our villa. The very short distance to the beach was perfect. Once all Villas are complete, we hope to go back with another family or two. We were there with our two teenage kids (13 & 16) and they were able to come and go as they wished. The villa was very roomy but cosey enough to enjoy our family time. The kids loved it. The beach is beautiful. We enjoyed costa rican meals prepared for us. The Hosts planned many activities for us and were so helpful. We enjoyed the Ocean King catamaran trip, as well as zip-lining. Thank you Bobby & Shelley - we hope to be back soon.
I just spent two weeks in Costa Rica at the Espadilla Ocean Club with my family (me, my husband and 2 kids, ages 6 and 4) and had a great experience. The villas are exceptional....modern, clean, comfortable and really beautiful. They left out no detail in designing and building these villas. Downstairs is a full kitchen, sitting area and bathroom. Upstairs there are 2 comfortable bedrooms, one with a loft that could sleep an adult or 2 kids comfortably. The view from the upstairs king bedroom is exquisite....right down to the Pacific Ocean. If you look up into the trees, there is also a good chance you will see monkeys. From the kitchen downstairs, you look out over the convenient (and welcomed) splash pool, deck, and towards the ocean as well. AC is available, but not necessary during the day. We kept the doors and windows open and had a great breeze that cooled things off. The managers of the EOC live on site and are extremely helpful. They were always available for questions and their recommendations (for trips, restaurants, etc) were spot on. They booked all our adventures for us and gave us all the necessary information so we could be ready and have everything we needed for the trips. They are both completely fluent in English and Spanish and couldn\'t be nicer. The location of the EOC is spectacular. It sits right in the middle of a one mile stretch of beach. The south part of the beach borders the Manuel Antonio reserve. I would run in the mornings or evenings (depending on the tide) on the beach. My Garmin marked one half-mile out each way on the beach, so I would get a 2 mile run in easily. I felt safe running by myself. The beach is about a one minute walk out your back villa door, making access to the beach and back to the villa very easy. With kids, it was helpful to be able to easily walk back to the villa for something forgotten or a quick break. Not only is the beach accessible, so is the rest of the town. It was a few minutes drive to any of the restaurants we went to or to the park. I really don\'t think there is a better location for a place to stay in the area. We plan to return to this area each summer and will stay with the EOC for sure. It is the perfect location, spectacular villas and superb service. Highly recommended.
Our stay was magnificent! A very accomodating, comfortable and very nicely decorated condo. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we could need - even plates and plastic cups for our 7 and 4 year old girls. The main bedroom has a great view - monkeys greeted us every morning! We enjoyed the jacuzzi just outside, and it was very convenient being so close to the beach - about a 2 minute walk. Our hosts - Bobby and Shelley - are SUPER nice. Thanks for such a fun weekend!
Our family stayed at the brand new EOC villas while vacationing in Manual Antonio. This place was exceptionally peaceful and beautiful! Once we arrived we felt as though we\'d been transported to a different world. For the first time ever on vacation my husband and I were really able to \"unplug\" from our fast paced lives and totally regroup and reconnect with our kids and each other. The villa itself is brand new! Very clean. Tastefully decorated and designed. Plenty of room for our family of four. The beds are very comfortable. First night there, was probably the best sleep I\'ve had in years as I drifted off to the peaceful lull of the ocean waves crashing in. The view from the wall to wall windows is breathtaking. The location is prime! Its a very short walk to the beach, grocery stores, great bars, restaurants, and shops. No rental car needed! Bobby and Shelley, the owners here, made our vacation \"once in a lifetime.\" We arrived on a Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning Shelley had arranged childcare in our villa, during which, my husband and I took private yoga lessons on the beach followed up with a couples massage by Shelley. It was seriously the best we\'ve ever had. During our entire stay they made great recommendations for food and fun, arranged some really awesome excursions, and hooked us up with really wonderful guides. You must check out Mid World Zipline Tour, totally awesome! And I think its \"Ocean King,\" for catamaran! Really incredible excursions! You can find Miguel on the beach for surf lessons just to the left of the villa. He\'s so awesome and created a love for surfing in my 4 year old! Bobby and Shelley are wonderful hosts. Their love for this project and Costa Rica is apparent in everything they do! We are telling all our friends and family about this place and we can\'t wait to return!
The Espadilla Ocean Club is a fantastic little compound of villas nestled in one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Its right on the beach and the owner lives on the property and is available to help with anything you may need. We spent a few days just relaxing on the beach, a day in the national park, and we were right in the heart of costa rica to do the other things we wanted to do (river rafting, canopy tours, etc). We went with our children (6 and 4) but this would also be a perfect place for couples or even a couple of your friends. We plan on going back to the EOV very soon
