THE MADARIAGA TOWER The fundamental aim of the tower is to impulse, generate and use both scientific and technological knowledge in order to make political decisions and make society aware of the biodiversity in the Basque Country. Its work is based on a double vocation. Show the variety, functions and richness of our environment and at the same time impulse the expansion of the knowledge and value of the biodiversity in Euskadi. THE URDAIBAI BIRDING CENTRE It´s the only ornithological centre in the Basque Country. This is an ambitious project , aimed at a serious study of bird migration in a privileged area like the Urdaibai.It´s a centre of investigation where visitors can watch the birds and participate in scientific studies. The Urdaibai Birding Centre combines different uses: investigation, tourism, formation and environmental education. All this is thanks to the new technologies and the desire to create innovating projects. ROMAN SETTLEMENT IN FORUA The settlement was occupied between the I and V centuries after Christ. Up to now nine different structures have been located. EL CASTRO DE ARROLA El Castro de Arrola is a fortified town built in the Iron Age located at the confluence of the Arrazu, Mendata and Nabarniz.
