Everything it was claimed to be

We found the Bears Den cabin to truely be everything it claimed to be. The cabin was clean and comfortable and we throughly enjoyed the experience. The recommendations for activities that we took advantage of \"Captain Bo\'s Shenandoah River Cruise\" and several of the local restaurants did not disappoint.

Family reunion

WOW! What a lovely place.Exceptionally clean, well equipped kitchen, beautiful views, the beds and linens felt as if you were sleeping on a cloud. This our first family reunion in 7 years. All attended (14 for dinner on Sunday) and everyone had a great time, especially sitting around the fire pit at night roasting marshmallows, a first for our 5yr. old great granddaughter. I highly recommend this \" Cabin in the Sky\" for your next vacation.

A great escape

This was our second stay at Bears Den Cabin and we will almost certainly be back next year. The owners keep the property well maintained, clean, and tastefully decorated. While there are several bedrooms for larger groups, we find it a great retreat for the two of us and our dog. The view off the back porch in October is spectacular - the Fall leaves contrasted against another distant mountain range is beautiful.

Private comfort

Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities. Owner\'s attention to detail makes this a perfect retreat if you want privacy and seclusion. Modern and well equipped kitchen with plenty of televisions for watching the game. Situated between Shenandoah, New Market and Luray. Lake Arrowhead Park in Luray is beautiful in the Fall.

Definitely worth going back

This place was a great place to spend quality time with a big group. It was more beautiful than the pictures could have shown. It is also well thought out, including games, towel-rack warmers, chairs to enjoy the view, and even a fry-cutter in the kitchen! We enjoyed our stay immensely, and everyone was able to do what they wanted...really a great experience, and will definitely come back.

Simply Brilliant!

We have just enjoyed spending 2 wonderful nights in Bears Den Cabin. The online pictures do not do the place justice. It is simply beautiful! The cabin was in pristine condition and exceeded all of our expectations. In total there were 9 adults and 5 kids in our group and the cabin was more than spacious enough. Plus it was stocked with every pot and pan you could ever need! The games room in the lower level was great and the fire pit outside was wonderful on a cold, winters night. We arrived 2 days after it had snowed so the area was a true winter wonderland. One member in our group arrived late by which time the temperature had dropped and the private road up to the cabin was simply impossible to get up due to ice unless you had 4-wheel drive. Under normal conditions the road up is easily manageable. Ice and snow make it a little more interesting! Overall a brilliant time was had by all.

Surprise getaway

I rented this beautiful cabin for my husband\'s 30th surprise birthday party. All our friends and family came and spent the weekend with us and it was a blast! The house is perfect and very cozy! There was plenty of room for everyone to relax, play, and spend time together. Lots of memories made to last a lifetime!

Cabin fever

We had a wonderful weekend of relaxation, food, scrapbooking and much more. Gathered around the firepit for some fireside chat and marshmallows. Enjoyed the basement recreation area and especially the oh so cozy comfy sectional sofa for movie time. The kitchen cabinets are labeled with pictures to make it easier to not only find but return items to their proper place. Very comfy beds and very nice linens provided. We are a picky group when it comes to cleanliness and we were very pleased. Nicely appointed and comfortable. Very accommodating and pleasant owner. I would return here again and look forward to another great stay.

Perfect get-away

The cabin and its numerous ammenities were amazing! It is very spacious, well appointed, decorated for comfort, and offers just about every luxury you could ever want. Everything was in top-notch condition, worked well, and written instructions for every device. The beds were extremely comfortable (felt like my orthopedic mattress at home). Although we didn\'t use the fireplaces, the different types of fireplaces provides something for everyone. Great LCD TV\'s in every bedroom! It\'s not often that something actually lives up to its billing, but the information on line and provided by Ghada was not exagerated. It is fantastic! We definitely plan to return for next year\'s getaway weekend!

Memorial getaway

This cabin was just as the other reviews said. We had a great time and would recommend this cabin to anyone!

Tour Bike Riders

We chose the Bears Den Cabin because of it\'s location, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley and near the Skyline Drive. And because it was large enough to accommodate our group. We found the cabin VERY accommodating. Very clean, modern, well kept and fully outfitted; having everything one could need for an extended stay. My wife was impressed with the decor. We found it homey and welcoming. The hot tub was a definite treat after a long day of riding. We have rented before, in other areas, for the purpose of having a base camp to ride from. From experience I would consider the Bears Den one of the best we\'ve ever rented. However, if riding motorcycles, be aware of the last 0.8 miles leading up to the cabin. It\'s a gravel road with sharp twists and steep grades. The crushed gravel was loose while we were there. Will be better when it packs in. Realize before starting up, after passing through the gate, that it is 0.8 miles and don\'t stop until you get there. Recommend experienced riders only.
