Description

The cottage sits in three acres of private wooded land with 175 feet of shoreline on the Bonnechere River.

The cottage has a large Lounge, Dining Area and fully equipped Kitchen and laundry facilities. There is a large walkout basement which serves as a bootroom. The cottage has over 750 square feet of decking to the front and enjoys panoramic views over the very private and secluded bay.

The cottage sleeps up to ten people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. The master bedroom has a bathroom en suite, there is a large family bathroom at ground floor level and a toilet and wash basin upstairs

The cottage has many other amenities including TV, DVD player, Book and Toy Cupboard with a BBQ on site also. See the Accommodation page for more details.

Lets are normally on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday; check-in is at 4.00pm and check-out at 11.00am. At some times of the year shoulder periods for less than a week may be available. Please use our Contact page for more details when shoulder periods may be available.

Algonquin Provincial Park

Algonquin Provincial Park was established in 1893, not to stop the then extensive logging but to establish a wildlife sanctuary, and, by excluding agriculture, to protect the headwaters of the five major rivers which flow from the Park. Today the Park is a major attraction. The park is is reached along Highway 60

 

Wilno

Nearby Wilno is Canada's First Polish Settlement and also a mecca for artists and craftspeople. Visit the Wilno Heritage Museum. Wilno lies west on Highway 60.

The Rental Terms and Conditions affecting the Rental of
Golden Lake Cottage, Tramore, By Golden Lake, Ontario

The Cottage
The cottage means the cottage at Golden Lake
Cottage, Tramore, By Golden Lake, Ontario with the
ground attached and all furniture and equipment
provided by the owner.
The Owner
The owner means the owners of the cottage Douglas
and Maureen Stanfield, Mountain View Motel, R. #2
18508 Highway 60, Barry\\\'s Bay, Ontario K0J 1B0
Canada
The Renter
The renter means the person named in the Golden
Lake Cottage Booking form along with all named
members of the rental party per the booking form
who are over 18 at the start of the rental.
The Rental period
The Rental period is the inclusive period between the
Arrival Date and the Departure Date specified in the
Booking form or other dates as may be later mutually
agreed (whether or not the renter remains in the
cottage during that period).
The Rental Amount
The rental amount is the sum specified as the Total
Rental in the Booking form or such other sum as may
be subsequently mutually agreed.
General Condition
It is a condition of booking that these terms and
conditions and the further conditions set out in the
Booking form are all accepted by the renter and all
persons who occupy or are invited into the cottage
during the rental period.
Reservation Deposit
A reservation deposit of $500 shall be paid on the
date the Booking form is submitted to the owner and
shall not be refundable unless cancellation of the
rental is due to fault on the owners’ part.
Security Deposit
A credit card security deposit of $500 is due at or
prior to the start of the rental period. This deposit will
be approved, but not transacted, unless there is a
claim by the owner. The hold on funds will be
cancelled after the renter’s departure unless there is
a claim by the owner.
Final Balance of Rental Amount
The final balance of the rental amount due (being the
rental amount less the deposit received by the
owner) shall be paid not later than 4 weeks prior to
the start of the rental period or, if the booking
application is submitted within 4 weeks of the start of
the rental period then the entire rental amount is due
when the booking form is submitted. If the final
balance of the rental amount has not been received 7
days from the date payment is due calculated as
above, the non payment of the balance will be
treated as breach of the rental agreement entitling
the owner to retain the entire reservation deposit as
their property but reserving the owner’s right to claim
further damages from the renter up to the full rental
amount.
Owner’s failure to make cottage available
Should the owner fail to make the cottage available
to the renter as contracted a full repayment will be
made to the renter, of the amount of rent the Renter
has already paid. In such cases the renter may not
exercise any right to obtain pecuniary damages and
the repayment will be in full settlement of all sums
due.
Early departure
Any early departure on behalf of the Renter during
their stay for any reason whatsoever will not give rise
to any repayment from the owner.
Services failure
A power cut is not an unusual occurrence in the
country. The owner has no control over such events
and is not responsible for any inconvenience or loss
of enjoyment of the property by the renter.
Furthermore the owner will not be obligated to reduce
the rental fee or compensate the renter in any way
Repairs & Maintenance
Repair and replacement will take place as soon as it
is reasonably possible. The owner will not be
responsible nor liable to the renter for any temporary
defect or stoppages in supply of public services to
the property or for any other loss, damage or injury
from adverse weather conditions or for any losses
due to, riot , war, strikes or other acts of god or other
circumstances beyond the control of the owner.
Intimation of Damage
The renter must advise the owner immediately of any
significant damage and as soon as possible for any
other material damage or problem and must, prior to
checking out, advise the owner of all damage to the
cottage. The cost of repairing any damage or
replacing any missing or damaged items and the
amount of any outstanding bills will be deducted from
the renter’s security deposit. The owner is
responsible for checking the cottage between rentals.
Telephone
There is no telephone installed at the cottage but
there is cell phone reception in the area.
Electricity Charges
The electricity required to reasonably heat and light
the cottage and for reasonable cooking during the
rental period is included in the rental amount. Any
gross or careless overuse of electricity by the renter
will be charged to and paid by the renter.
Use and condition of furniture
The Renter undertakes to use the furniture and
objects forming part of the cottage for their intended
purpose only and to keep them in the part of the
cottage where they are situated. and not to remove
them from the cottage. The furniture and other
objects in the cottage must only undergo the wear
and tear due to the normal use for which they are
intended. Any furniture or objects, at the expiry of
the rental agreement that are missing or damages
other than normal wear and tear, shall be paid for or
replaced by the renter with the owner’s agreement.
Such provision also applies to damage beyond wear
and tear to wallpaper, curtains and to the property
generally including: the value of missing, broken or
cracked objects the price of washing or cleaning
carpets, blankets, mattresses, bed linen etc. which
are stained or dirty beyond normal wear and tear.
The Renter undertakes to use the furniture and
objects furnishing the rented property for their
intended purpose and to keep them clean and tidy
before you depart. This means that you and/or your
party must do a basic cleaning prior to your

Arrival and Departure Check in times
For weekly rentals arrival time is 4pm on Saturday
and departure time is 11 am on Saturday. Any
disruption caused by late checkout will be charged to
the renter.

No Sub Letting
The renter may not, under any circumstances, sub-let
or transfer their rights from the present agreement
without the owner’s express agreement: The renter
shall use the rented premises for vacation residential
purposes only.
Urgent Work
The Renter shall allow any urgent or important work
to be performed to the cottage which may be
required to maintain the cottage in good condition,
without being entitled to claim any compensation.
The owner is responsible for checking the cottage
between rentals.
Renter\\\'s Obligations
The Renter agrees to take the cottage in the
condition as described on the owner’s website. In
the case of the premises being rented without having
first being seen the renter does not hold the right for
any damages or reduction of the rental amount if the
cottage does not correspond to their impression of it.
(Note – most renters say the cottage is even better
than the pictures on the website suggest)
Garbage
All garbage should be separated for recycling and
securely bagged and left outside the basement of the
cottage for collection by the owners after departure.
Blockages
The Renter shall shall not place in the washbasins,
baths, toilets, sinks, wash tubs etc any objects likely
to block the pipes or septic, otherwise they will bear
the costs for putting such apparatus back into
service.
Keys
If the Renter loses the cottage keys or leaves the
property at the end of their stay without returning the
keys to the property to the owner the Renter may be
liable to pay the costs of changing the locks.
Maximum Occupancy
Due to safety and health concerns the maximum
capacity of the Cottage is 10 persons. The cottage
shall not on any account be occupied by a higher
number of persons. All occupants must be listed on
the Booking form. No overnight guests can exceed
the maximum occupancy.
No Pets Rule
NO pets are allowed in the cottage. Guests who
check in with pets will not be allowed entry and may
result in forfeit of full payment. The Renter may not
let into the premises any animal, even momentarily.
Failure to abide by this rule will result in termination
of the contract the rental payment will remain the
owner’s final property and the renter will be asked to
vacate the premises.
No Smoking Rule
NO SMOKING is allowed inside the cottage. Please
respect that the cottage is a no smoking house and
the owner requests that you smoke outside.
Neighbours
Our cottage property shares a bay with other
cottages. It is important to respect our neighbors
privacy and quiet enjoyment of their properties.
Sound travels easily across the water. Please avoid
any loud screaming, yelling crying and loud music.
Privacy Policy:
All information collected by the owner is for essential
contractual payment and screening purposes. And
will only be collected, used and disclosed as required
for those purposes.
Entire Agreement
The Booking form, these terms and conditions and
the owner’s acceptance of the booking constitute the
entire agreement between the owner and the Renter.
Any amendments to the contract must be made in
writing and signed by both parties. Please adhere to
any special conditions for the cottage: Please do not
ask us to make exceptions. The renter warrants that

Facts About Destination

The cottage is approached from the rear along a secluded drive. There is generous parking and attractive decking leads to the main entrance The main living acomodation can be found at ground floor level including the living room, dining area, generous kitchen, laundry facilities and two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a full ensuite bathroom. There is also a full family bathroom at this level. The living room opens onto the large 750 square feet area of decking

Our cottage lies in the Golden Lake area of Ontario. The Golden Lake area lies in the Bonnechere Valley and in the County of Renfrew which is also known as the Ottawa Valley

How to reach

Our cottage lies around four hours drive from Toronto and can be reached from Ottawa in under two hours. The cottage is located on the banks of the Bonnechere River on Tramore Road and is a five minute drive to Deacon.

Precautions

Entrance to water is very gradual and underfoot is sand/mud. Swim shoes are advised.
