The Sword and Anchor Bed and Breakfast sits proudly at the head of Chester Basin overlooking the waters of Mahone Bay. Sit back, relax and experience the warmth and hospitality of the South Shore and embrace the breathtaking view of Nova Scotia picturesque coastline.

The Sword and Anchor offers guests a spectacular view of the waters of Mahone Bay, welcoming hospitality, and comfortable accommodations. We have 8 guest rooms with private bath ensuite, a spacious family suite with its own entrance, and a charming, separate guest house.

A delicious, full breakfast is served in our dining room, with choices of cereal, fresh fruit and yoghurt, freshly baked croissants, muffins or danish pastries, the best scrambled eggs you will ever taste with bacon and toast. Beverages include juice and plenty of tea or freshly brewed coffee.

Family Suite

The ground floor Family Suite comfortably accommodates 6 people. There are two bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and one with twin beds, and a Queen sofabed in the sitting room, and a 4-piece family bathroom.

The large sitting room has comfortable seating, a propane fireplace, and Cable TV/DVD. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, tea and coffee making facilities.

Guest Rooms

We have eight bedrooms all with private baths ensuite. All guest rooms are on the second floor of the main house.

Guest House

For both honeymooners or simply those guests requiring something a little 'special', we are pleased to offer our Guest House. This house features a large sunny living area which boasts a cathedral ceiling, propane fireplace, hardwood floors and French doors opening onto a private deck with spectacular views of the waters of Mahone Bay and some of its many islands.
The bathroom has a large corner whirlpool tub and there is a separate shower.

The compact kitchen, is fully equipped with stove, fridge, microwave, etc. Other Guest House amenities include cable TV and DVD, and a utility room with full laundry facilities.

The Guest House sleeps a maximum of four. The large bedroom has a Queen size bed and a Queen size sofabed is in the living area.
