We welcome ... family gatherings for reunions and weddings ... small and large dogs ... and festival groups both small and large.

Our vacation rental home is located in a small, private, quiet residential community located about one mile north of the California Oregon border. We are just six miles north of Smith River and five miles south of Brookings -- a small relaxed coastal town with a harbor and miles of uncrowded scenic beaches for beach walking, tide pooling, surf fishing, and kite flying. We are close to the Brookings Harbor for ocean bottom and salmon fishing or whale watching trips, the Siskiyou forest for sports like hiking and mountain biking, and the Winchuck, Chetco, and Smith Rivers for river fishing.

Just off Hwy 101, a 10 minute walk and a local public access path gets you onto the beach ... tides, driftwood and river height permitting. Since we are children friendly, we do not have a direct entrance onto the beach, which means you don't have to spend your vacation constantly keeping your children from entering the rough, cold surf. Instead, we have a private fenced back yard very suitable for young children to play in.

We are a great place to stay for extended family vacations and gatherings, since we can sleep up to 12 people in the Lodge and 5 more in our Annex next door. The Moosehead Lodge is also a great place to come for the Kite Flying, Azalea and Art Festivals.

After a day walking on Winchuck Beach, hiking in the local mountains, or biking around Brookings Harbor -- come and relax, BBQ the catch of the day in the backyard and enjoy an evening picnic and sleeping under the stars.

Terms & Conditions

We require a non refundable reservation (no show) deposit of 25%, ($300 minimum). We also charge a cleaning fee of $75 per stay in the Moosehead and $25 per room in the Annex.

We are pet friendly ... your pets also are part of the family and need to be with you. However, we charge $20 per night per pet guest and a $75.00 pet cleaning fee per stay for the Moosehead Lodge and $25 cleaning fee per room used per stay in the Annex. This eliminates kenneling your pets and the potential to arrive home to find a sick pet. We do not allow pets on the beds, furniture, etc. so we provide tan pet sheets as over covers. We also have a fenced kennel with tub and cold running water to wash the beach sand from them and tan towels to dry them.

We welcome up to three large, house trained pets and owners are responsible for paying for any damage caused by their pets.
