At Downs Barn farm our aim is to offer guests the opportunity to relax and take a break from everyday life, whilst enjoying the comforts and little luxuries provided to make your stay here something special and memorable.

Downs Barn Farm is a working arable/beef farm and is situated on the south coast road between Land's End and Penzance, close to Lamorna, Porthcurno and Mousehole.

West Cornwall can be easily explored from here. Porthcurno with its lovely beaches and the famous open-air Minack theatre are just a few minutes drive away. Land's End, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance are all close by. There are also numerous pre-historic sites to be found locally, with Cornish crosses, standing stones & stone circles. Myth & legend surround this area, come and experience it for yourself.

Our seasons in West Cornwall are extremely mild and short breaks during the spring and autumn can be particularly beautiful. April brings the bluebells and then in May and June an abundance of wild flowers can be seen on the cliffs and hedgerows. September and October too, are often warm mild months. Perfect for walking the coastal path, where you can often be lucky to see dolphins, basking sharks, seals and many different species of birds.

Downs Barn Farm is open all year round except Christmas.

For the comfort of all our guests we have a no smoking policy in the farmhouse. You are welcome to smoke in the garden.

Dogs are very welcome but must be happy to sleep in your car as we are unable to allow them in the house.

Nanjizal
This room is named after the beautiful Nanjizal Bay. Situated between Land's End and Porthcurno, just a few minutes drive from the farm. Being only accessable by footpath makes it a wonderfully peaceful place to have a swim, sunbathe or just relax and enjoy the scenery.

The beautiful beach is surrounded by cliffs which contain numerous caves. The beach is often visited by seals and you can expect to see many species of sea birds.

Nanjizal Bedroom

With lovely views towards Land's End and the sea, this recently and stylishly refurbished room offers you the height of comfort. The exposed original beams & vaulted ceiling make it feel spacious & airy.

A wonderfully comfortable, king size wrought iron bed with luxurious soft furnishings promises you a good night's sleep.

Your every comfort is provided for with LCD television, central heating, clock/ radio, hairdryer and well stocked refreshment tray.

En-suite
The stylish, modern en-suite facilities include a corner shower, washbasin and WC. Soft fluffy towels and toiletries are provided along with luxurious towelling bathrobes.

St Loy
This room is named after St Loy, a very peaceful rocky cove, just 20 minutes walk across the fields and through the woods. Looking through the window of this room. St Loy is straight ahead, just below the trees.

There are large rocks on the left hand side of the cove, which are perfect for stretching out on to read a book or to sunbathe. It is one of our favourite places to walk.

Somewhere to sit, enjoy the peace and quiet, listen to the sea lapping against the rocks, far away from the crowds, a truly relaxing place.

St Loy Bedroom
The St Loy bedroom is beautifully appointed, with outstanding views over the countryside to the sea, and a wealth of features to add to your comfort. A wonderfully comfortable wrought iron double bed with luxurious furnishings awaits you.

The room contains plenty of storage including a wardrobe and dressing table.

There is a TV/DVD/CD, hairdryer, clock/radio, central heating and well stocked tea tray offering a variety of refreshments.

Ensuite

The en-suite facilities include a recently refurbished bathroom, which overlooks the rear garden. A roll-top bath is the room's feature, with separate shower, wash basin, and toilet. Above the wash basin is a beautiful lighted mirror.
