Castlewigg lodge Bed & Breakfast Whithorn.

Castlewigg Lodge is set in its own grounds 2 miles north of Whithorn. Castlewigg Lodge is located in a very quite rural location, centrally located in the Machars area of Wigtownshire. Facing south east we look out onto Cottage hill and woodland, Looking to the  east we have wonderful views over to Wigtown bay and the Galloway hills. We are just off the A746, Between Sorbie and Whithorn. Castlewigg Lodge is ideally located for all the visitor attractions, Fishing, Walking, Sight Seeing,Golfing, Cycling, etc & we are only a few miles from the coast east west or south.

There is good Fishing to be had off the rocks or beaches around the area, Sea Bass being one of the prime catches. Cycling, the roads around castlewigg lodge are great for cycling, with no steep hill climbs, just gentle rolling countryside, they are very quite, in fact they are practically traffic free, although you will encounter the odd tractor & might get held up in a cow jam around milking times!

There are some great little Golf courses in Wigtownshire, all within a short car journey from Castlewigg Lodge, ST Medans at Monreith looking out over Glenluce bay, being notable, apparently a very challenging links course. Walking & Exploring, Castlewigg Lodge is a great location for setting out on walks or just plain old exploring. We are in an ideal location for anyone who just wants to have a quite break in a beautifull & peaceful location. Formerly known as Castlewigg Hotel and still marked as such on maps, We are Open All Year for Bed & Breakfast. You can be assured of a very enjoyable & pleasant stay with us. With a maximum of only Six Guests at any one time. You can be assured of our personal attention at any time. A Delicious Full Scottish Breakfast with a Vegetarian option, or Fresh Fruit, Cereals, Yogurt etc. All prepared from fresh local produce, is served at a time to suit you between 7.30 - 9.00am.

Special diets can be catered for but please let us know in advance. You can also relax in our spacious Guest's lounge at any time. (May-Sept).
