Sleeps: 2Clonleason Gate Lodge is a 200 year old riverside ottage for a couple, and has been included in a Sunday Times article entitled – 50 Cool Cottages in England and Ireland. Located in the heart of the Boyne Valley in Co. Meath our one bedroom self-catering retreat is at the entrance to a small Georgian farmhouse, and overlooks acres of gardens and mature grounds. Visitors will find this the ideal place to relax and unwind with little to disturb the peace and quiet but birdsong. Roses and honeysuckle scent the air in summer. Visitors will find many fine golf courses, walks, fishing, equestrian sports and archaeological sites of interest close by.
Clonleason is about one hour from Dublin/Dublin airport where a warm personal welcome awaits all who come to stay with us.
The lodge has three comfortable rooms. The front door leads into the well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, cooker, electric hob and all the necessary tools for cooking. It has a grey slate floor and pretty hand-printed French wallpaper. There is a cosy eating area by the window.
The bright sitting- room has a high ceiling, open fireplace, comfy furniture and windows on three sides. French doors open into a secret garden. Bookcases provide an eclectic collection of books, magazines, a mini hi-fi and a good selection of music.
The pretty double bedroom has an en suite shower room with power-shower, heated towelrail, and is finished in white marble.
The private shady garden is planted with sorbus and wild cherry, while the sunny rose garden has a pretty arbour is a delight in summer. Visitors are welcome to wander into our own garden which has been planted over the years with a mixture of native and ornamental trees and shrubs.
Logs and coal are provided. Sheets and towels are provided. A Housekeeping service is provided on request. 100 Euro refundable damage deposit required on arrival. We accept euro, dollar or sterling cheques. Very regrettably the Lodge is not suitable for children or pets, and is non-smoking.
