This is the upstairs Suite with a breath taking 240 degree view of the lake surrounded by flower gardens and fruit trees. Private lake access. You have every Suite decorated exquisitely with local hardwoods. Including massive king beds. Furnished with everything necessary from beautiful hardwood tables to a medium size refrigerator, vitro-ceramic cook top, toaster oven, microwave oven, coffee maker, electric tea pot, and safety deposit box.
 
The space
Beautiful wood furnished Lake Garden Suites surrounded by flower gardens and fruit trees. An amazing view of Lake Arenal with lakefront access. Organic food garden. Grill area on site. An amazing botanical collection with plants from all over the planet! Heliconias and hibiscus are a main part of our flower collection. Fishing is allowed on the premises.
 
Guest access
Big wood gate with control key pad for easy gate access to and from the parking area. Ample parking space with wide cemented walk ways to get from the parking area to the Suites and then on to the Koi ponds!
 
Other things to note
We are located on the north east side of Lake Arenal so the trade winds are sometimes strong making our location fresh and even chilly at night. Long sleeve clothing can be recommended at night.

During your stay
It is of great importance for us to give guests as much space as possible to enjoy the gardens in tranquility and peace, so we tend to keep a low profile during our guest stay regarding works on site. It is our pleasure to help our guests in any circumstances. Living on-site allows us to be more effective in attending our guest travelers. We try to be available as much as possible during the daytime and night. I am always available through phone messaging.

Great Location!


I little piece of paradise in Nuevo Arenal. Extremely manicured grounds with the passion and expertise of the owner at your disposal. Interior suite with kitchenette are all thoughtfully acquitted. Special touches all over. Town is small, safe with great options for dining and grocery. Ian will give you all the info you need for local National Park hikes and visits. Having a local phone service helps with the wifi that can be challenging with such a unique location. All you need and more! Go for it. Seriously beautiful grounds.

Our time here was a highlight of our time in Costa Rica. Ian’s Fruit Tree Garden is beautiful, and was so restful. We appreciated Ian’s thoughtfulness as a host, and really enjoyed the tour of his garden and animals. He has a deep passion for his land and for the environment, and it shows. We had a few issues with the wifi but Ian was always quick to come to assist. A note for light sleepers: closing windows at night helped limit the sound of dogs barking down the street. The bed is stiff, which is neither a pro or con- just depends on what you like. The studio is beautiful inside and out, and I would happily come and stay here again.

Five stars are not enough. This place is extraordinary! Ian is what all hosts should aspire to be. The space is clean, perfectly appointed, and he includes snacks, wine, fresh flowers (from the property), and more. Town offers great dining if you don't want to cook or shop a local grocery. Ian is a dedicated steward of the environment and you will leave a better person if you spend any time learning from him. He is happy to share his knowledge and life experiences. He is so helpful and responsive. We will definately return.

Loved Loved Loved everything about Ian’s gorgeous accommodations and property. He is gracious, passionate and cares deeply about his natural surroundings and Mother Earth. We were thrilled when we arrived and immediately felt like we had met a dear friend in Ian. The nonstop views of the garden, lake and mountains are incredible. The suite was very well appointed with everything you need. Gorgeous bathroom and shower. Top of the line. We had everything we needed for our 4 day visit. The town of Arenal was exactly to our taste. A local experience away from the touristy areas and a genuine Costa Rica flavor. Beautifully nestled on the hillside overlooking the lake. If there were 20 stars, this place would deserve them all !

Beautiful view!


This is an extraordinary accommodation! No wonder they are only five stars reviews! We really enjoyed this very clean place with the beautiful view! The wildlife and fauna on the property is absolutely amazing! Ian is such an incredible host! We immediately felt welcome with a nice set up apartment even equipped with snacks and wine, not to forget the wonderful flowers perfectly arranged in the bathroom. He also showed us around in his garden and always had helpful answers to our questions. The property has its own private excess to Lake Arenal and you can use SUP boards for free! Definitely recommend staying here! It probably was the nicest stop on our trip through Costa Rica!

The Fruit Tree Garden is amazing


The Fruit Tree Garden is amazing. Ian created an oasis in Nuevo Arenal. The accommodations and grounds are spectacular. He is very passionate about the environment and will provide you a detailed educational tour if you like. Neuvo Arenal is a cute little town with some really tasty restaurants and gorgeous views. It allowed for cool hiking day trips capped by a quiet evening setting.
