Hello! I am a sales manager for a Fortune 500 Company and am thrilled that you are interested in possibly renting our vacation property. My wife (Alicia) and I have 3 wonderful daughters and a puppy. Fletcher, the English Lab you see in the picture recently went to doggy heaven but he was such a part of our lives when we visited Chincoteague we saw this picture and thought he should be a part of the greeting since he was such a happy and fun loving dog to all. We currently reside in Hockessin, DE but I have been vacationing in Chincoteague since I was 5 years old. Chincoteague has so much to offer in what I like to do (i.e. fishing, boating, beach, claming, crabbing, jogging, biking, etc) that it makes it hard to leave when we visit.
Why Rodney Alexander chose Chincoteague
Once you see Rachel's Delight you will see why it is an attraction on the island. Ever since I was a little boy I had always admired the house with the big white pillars. It is literally one of the larger homes on the island so when it came up for sale back in 2009 I gathered my wife and my father up to find the means to purchase. We lucked out and the rest is history.
What makes this House unique
Rachel's Delight is spacious so you will find plenty of room to get away for privacy or to congregate with family / friends. It's convenience to Main Street really make the home a special place since it takes away the hassle of parking and managing busy streets.

Great location and super functional for a big group

This large, well-built house is big, quiet and very functional. We stayed here for a week with extended family including a 7-mo-old, a 3-year-old and two well-behaved large dogs plus 4 adults total. We used every room of this great historic home, and there was plenty of room. Three of us were always able to find a quiet place to work when we needed to make an occasional Zoom meeting. The host, Rodney, responded quickly to every request and arranged for our early check-in. The space isn\'t fancy and it\'s popular so it\'s had some use, but it\'s clean and cavernous and functionally, you can\'t beat it. Also I understand it, the bathrooms in this big home are going to get a new look this winter, which will make it even better. The beds are extremely comfortable, there\'s abundant parking, it\'s a good location (lots to walk to from there), and the kitchen is well stocked with essential pans, etc. We had a blast felt extremely comfortable and relaxed in this space.

Beautiful Older House..

Beautiful Older House. Plenty of room for my family of 9. Thanks for the opportunity of staying in your house

Big house & Great Price

We were happy to find a large enough house at an affordable price. Well furnished with beds, linens, and kitchenware. The owners were communicative and helpful. Would stay here again.

Lovely older large home

We had a wonderful time. The home is very large allowed for privacy for multiple people. Is well suited for large or multiple families. The front porch has a view of the drawbridge if you like to watch the boats come in and out

Great time with family

We are a huge family of 12 so having a big house is a must. The Shelby house was the perfect place for us. Only down side are the small showers and no tub for the little ones. We also needed larger bake ware but definitely not a deal breaker. Also an older gentleman in a red geo tracker shows up a lot but says he\'s doing laundry in the basement not a big deal just wish we had a heads up on it. Over all a great house with a perfect front porch and location. We will definitely be back.

Excellent for large family

It was excellent for our family group of nine. Comfortably spacious large rooms. We especially appreciated the large table.
