1. The Garden Room (Seasonal Suite Rates of $225-$320 Per Night)
The air conditioned Garden Room has large windows overlooking the lush tropical gardens, high beamed ceilings, a(new) king-sized bed and your own private bathroom equipped with a hair dryer, comfy bathrobes and an open air tropical garden shower with views to the to the blue skies above. The Garden Room is also the only suite to offer a private, separate sitting area complete with a comfy daybed.
* New Split unit air conditioning
 
All guests receive a well deserved 'welcome drink' upon arrival and included every day of your stay is:  
* A FULL breakfast, HOMEMADE from scratch daily, on the shaded veranda surrounded by local Genip, banana, and a variety of palms trees. Enjoy fresh ground coffee, tea, juice, and fresh fruit daily along with  our famous Eggs Benedict, Pina Colada French Toast with Bananas Foster sauce, potato crusted quiche, and much more!
 
* Beach chairs, beach towels, blankets, and coolers to enhance and ease your vacation experience.

With its own private veranda, king-sized bed, cathedral ceilings, and double sliding French doors, this bright and spacious hotel room also enjoys a private bath equipped with a hair dryer and comfy bathrobe.

Garden by the Sea is classic Caribbean bed and breakfast hotel: Bright, colorful walls adorned with local art, gingerbread trim, lush gardens with coconut and banana trees, plus an abundance of Caribbean wildlife.
We are located in the heart of Estate Contant and Enighed, a quaint neighborhood within walking distance of Cruz Bay and a quick stroll to Frank Bay Beach. No rental car is needed to enjoy our B&B, beaches, or town although we do have parking if you choose reserve one. During your stay, be sure to take a moment from our wrap around terrace to catch the sun setting over the Salt Pond Bird Sanctuary with St. Thomas in the background .
Each morning, you will be served a complete, delicious hot homemade breakfast on our tropically shaded veranda where you will be delighted by lively birds and geckos frolicking among the banana, almond and genip trees.
Garden by the Sea is the perfect place for honeymooners, nature lovers, or those people who just simply need the perfect getaway.

Cozy and Homey B&B


A quaint B&B located just a 10 minute walk from the Cruz Bay town center. The hosts Eileen and John were super friendly and accommodating (we had specific dietary restrictions) and they went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Of course the breakfasts were delicious as was the coffee. To top it off, the porch has a beautiful view of the sunset. Highly recommend for those looking for a cozy, secluded place to stay.

Ranked #1 B&B on St. John For Good Reason


Exceptional location and exceptional hosts! The B&B is located a mere 5 minute walk to all the downtown action. This is important as parking downtown is difficult and expensive. After a long day of snorkeling and hiking it was wonderful bringing our Jeep back to the B&B (free parking) and just walking into town for dinner. One day we never even used our Jeep as we walked to the National Park visitor center (located downtown) and then used trails behind the visitor center to reach a couple different beaches. Another plus is the B&B is located a very short drive/walk between the people and car ferry docks so it\'s perfect whether you arrive with or without a vehicle. We rented our Jeep in St. Thomas and used the car ferry barge but there were lots of Jeep rental locations on St. John so that option is just as good. Each morning around 8am John and Eileen cooked us a fantastic breakfast. Best coffee and milk on the island! We loved chatting with them and the other guests. We learned all about the best beaches and hiking trails and restaurants. The best B&B hosts we have ever encountered. Super nice and down to earth.

Peaceful paradise amidst a pandemic


Having booked earlier in 2020, we weren\'t sure if this trip would work out but everything came together, thankfully. Eileen and John were excellent and welcoming hosts amidst the chaos and uncertainties of the times. Great sources of island information. We were the only guests for half of our stay, although given how lovely this place is I\'m sure it\'s normally much busier. We found the property to offer a really nice balance of social spaces and privacy. We loved hanging out on the deck with all the birds, lizards, and lush greenery, and the covered living room area was fantastic to have during the rainy days. Breakfasts were all excellent and we appreciated the reasonable prices at the honor bar. Fiona and Cooper (the dogs) were adorable company. Having a rental Jeep was helpful but not necessary if you don\'t mind walking a bit (including some hills and possible mud). We hope to return, sooner rather than later. Thank you, Eileen and John!

Garden by the Sea...a hidden diamond in paradise!


Being my first trip to St. John USVI, could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay! Eileen and John have left no stone unturned when it comes to providing the best of accommodations for their guests. Our suite was comfortable, air conditioned, and spotless. Although the location of the B&B seems secluded from the outside world, you\'re actually within walking distance from the beach, Cruz Bay, all the restaurants and shops. When it comes time to head to the beach...no need to worry because the B&B provides coolers, snorkel gear, chairs, and beach bags! To further compliment waking up each morning to the ocean breeze was having a coffee cup waiting to be filled with freshly brewed coffee along with a gourmet homemade breakfast...Eileen\'s egg benedict is OFF THE CHART and a bit famous among island locals! Eileen and John\'s recommendations are not to be overlooked as they know exactly what they\'re talking about when it comes to dining and excursions. Eileen and John, thank you for treating us like family and making our stay one of the best experiences ever!

Couldn\'t have asked for a better place to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary ???? Eileen and John made us feel so welcomed the minute we arrived! The home is beautiful and so comfortable. Breakfast every morning on their terrace was absolutely delicious. Enjoyed this special view from our room. Already hoping to plan a return to this special place!

Amazingly cool place to hang out and enjoy.


My wife and I were celebrating her birthday and on the recommendation of a friend, stayed Garden by the Sea. If you don\'t stay there, you are missing a unique St. John Experience. John and Eileen, the owners, were great, breakfast was to die for! Walking the path by the salt pond after a fun night is worth the price alone! Very affordable, very friendly, walk from home after the Cruz Bay Shuffle and wake up and walk to the ferry for a memory you won\'t forget!

Perfect island retreat


When we come to St. John, we always stay here. Everything is always spotless and Eileen and John are wonderful hosts. Breakfast is always spot on and it just feels like home. We love everything about Garden By the Sea!
