Welcome to our charming Coastal Cabana in the heart of the New Smyrna Beach historic district and a three-minute walk to scenic downtown Canal Street for shopping, art galleries, antiques, bars and restaurants. A quick three minute zippy drive over the bridge where you can park directly on the beach. Tucked away behind our 1920 historic main home overlooking the pool, coquina rock waterfall and tropical gardens. ALSO AVAILABLE  for rent on the  property next door is our historic CARRIAGE HOUSE. Renting both The Coastal Cabana + The Carriage House would be ideal for three couples, a large family or group of friends.
 
A large parking pad and additional driveway space provide rare premium parking for boat or RV. Includes the use of private swimming pool, pool floats, heated outdoor shower, gas grill, rustic barbecue barn, free wireless Internet, cable television and tropical gardens backyard area with a secluded fire pit nestled in a wall of bamboo. Just a few short steps to the RIVER for fishing or kayaking and a continuous sidewalk to Flagler Avenue and BEACH (bicycle 10 minutes or drive  3 minutes) and nearby boat rental and public boat ramp (2 minutes). There are two nearby public golf courses (5 minute drive): New Smyrna Beach Municipal Golf Course and Hidden Lakes Golf Course. 
 
We provide standard creature comforts: flat screen cable TV, dishes, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, basic toiletries, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, bath towels & washcloths, beach towels & beach chairs. There is an accessible laundry room on the property for your use with a washer and dryer.
 
The Coastal Cabana is one level and has no stairs. Please contact us about bringing a dog; prior approval is necessary and there is an additional fee. 
 
We suggest an easy, fun day by packing a picnic lunch, surf boards, boogie boards, fishing poles and other gear in the car and drive right onto our smooth-surfaced beach from the nearby Flagler Avenue beach entrance. The beach has a gentle incline into the water, making it easy to wade, swim or ride the waves. 
 
We will make every effort to create a getaway experience that is charming and memorable.

Deb & Tom Exum are both Florida natives and have a keen understanding of local history and places of interest in central Florida.
Deb is an accomplished musician and vocalist and writes jingles for radio and television. She enjoys writing all styles of music and will perform for guests upon request. Deb also has a corporate background serving as a former VP of Marketing & Sales in Higher Education. She enjoys interior decorating, bicycling, walking, gardening and cooking.
Dr. Tom Exum is a retired chiropractor and a former President of the Florida Chiropractic Association. Tom is now a full-time realtor with EXIT Realty in NSB. As a lifelong resident, Tom is passionate and knowledgeable about our wonderful beach town. Tom was a former college and pro baseball player. After a baseball injury, it was a chiropractor that got Tom back onto the field. That experience led Tom to Palmer Chiropractic College and ultimately his career as a chiropractor. Tom is an incredible cook, a nutritionist, and enjoys creating healthy new meals on the barbecue grill and in the kitchen.

Peaceful, Tropical Oasis - FIVE STARS!


The best host and hostess ever! First Class accomodations all the way! I am a traveling nurse and plan to tell colleagues and my agencies about this place! A comfortable, super clean, well appointed, tropical paradise. Why would you stay in a boring, noisy hotel / condo when a peaceful oasis with kitchenette, outdoor shower, indoor shower and TROPICAL POOL & GARDENS are just steps outside your door? Seriously! I loved the Cabana and will stay again!

Holiday stay


Very pleased with our stay and would stay there again. Deb and Tom were very friendly and easy to deal with. Clean and well maintained. We were able to bring our small dog and there was a fenced in yard she could play in. The back yard/pool/grilling area is large and very nice. We were visiting family in the area so we really just slept there at night - and the bed was great! Have already recommended their rental(s) to family members.

Perfect Beach Getaway


Deb and Tom were the ideal hosts! They welcomed us late at night when we arrived and were so helpful the entire trip, from quickly responding to texts to suggesting the best local restaurants and bars. The Coastal Cabana was so homey yet classy. It was a comfortable stay in the heart of New Smyrna. Located less than a 5 minute drive from anything and everything, we had a blast! We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you so much!
