Description

From beautiful morning sunrises, the ever constant waves, dolphins playing in the surf, and limitless views from Wrightsville Beach to Kure Beach, be prepared to enjoy the ocean every minute of your vacation in Carolina Beach. You don't even need to leave our large full floor balconies to enjoy the sound of the surf or the rays of the sun. Even from inside the unit, large oceanfacing windows allow you to take in all the natural beauty that surrounds you.
 
Our oceanfront home is the complete 2nd and 3rd levels of our building and is equipped with a private elevator. This unit features 6 Bedrooms and 4 Bathrooms, to accommodate groups as large as 24. If you need even more space, we also own the downstairs 1st floor unit which sleeps 10 additional guests (FAR #107716). The building has ample parking and a spacious backyard for BBQ and yard games or a formal wedding ceremony. There is plenty of space for that large family get together you are wanting to have.  Also, both units are pet and child friendly!

Extended Overview:
Our large kitchen features stainless steel appliances -  a French door refrigerator with ice maker and water in door, a double oven range with a convection oven for quicker cooking times, dishwasher, and microwave. Plates, glasses and cookware are all provided - enough for two meals without ever having to do dishes! There is also a coffee maker, crock-pot, toaster, blender, waffle iron and griddle to help with all the meal preparation. There is also a separate bar area with mini fridge for all those extra beverages, lots of barware, and utensils necessary for making this vacation beverages. For making meals outdoors, we have two gas grills with provided propane, plus a charcoal grill.
 
We have a large dining room table that accommodates 12. We also have provided a foldable table and chairs that seats 6 more. There are also four stools at the counter, and TV trays for extra dinner seating in the living room. 
 
The main living room has a large couch, loveseat, and two armchairs and is open to the kitchen and dining area for maximum entertaining. There is also a 40" TV and built-in fireplace for those chilly evenings. 
 
The main master bedroom has a King Sleighbed, a twin daybed with low trundle, sleeping up to four. This bedroom has private access to the upstairs oceanfront balcony and has a private four piece attached bathroom with a double shower, a two person jetted tub, toilet, and his and her sinks. 
 
The second master bedroom has two queen beds, a twin daybed with a raised trundle, accommodating up to six. This bedroom also has private access to the upstairs oceanfront balcony and an attached private bathroom. This bathroom features a shower/whirlpool tub combo, sink and toilet. 
 
There are two bedrooms on the main floor of the unit. One bedroom has one queen bed and has a private street-side balcony. The other bedroom features two bunkbed sets - one is a twin-over-twin, the other is a twin-over-double, sleeping 5. This bedroom also has a private street-side balcony. These bathrooms share the main floor bathroom with a shower/tub combo, toilet and sink. 
 
Upstairs there are two more bedrooms in addition to the two master bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen with a street-side private balcony. The other bedroom has one set of bunkbeds - a twin-over-double, and a single twin, with a private street-side balcony. These bedrooms share a bathroom with a walk-in shower with seating, a toilet, and a sink. 
 
Our home also has a laundry closet with a stack, front loading washer and dryer for you to use. Linen service is included in the price of the unit, and includes bed sheets, bath and beach towels, hand towels, and wash cloths. Kitchen towels are also provided. 
 
Our unit has a private beach access for those days that you want to enjoy the beach. We are also lucky enough to have a lifeguard post right by our house for added safety when bringing families and those new to the beach. We provide  beach chairs so there is no need to bring any from home. There are also plenty of sand toys that we've accumulated over the years to play with as well. There is a locked storage closet in the carport to lock up strollers or surfboards, and an outdoor shower and hose to rinse off the sand. 
 
Again, we also have a large backyard (very rare on the island) if you want to bring your yard games to enjoy.The backyard is gated, so you an let your kids or pets roam freely.  There is plenty of outdoor space if you are planning a wedding ceremony or reception or reunion event. We can give you a list of vendors from food, to flowers, to seating as we hosted our own 10 Year Anniversary Party here last June.  
 
All of our decks have patio seating, including a dining table set on the main floor oceanfront deck. The upper level deck has several pool loungers for sunbathing or stargazing as it is open to the sky. 
 
If it happens to rain during your stay, there is plenty to keep you entertained inside. We have extended cable TV in the living room and master bedrooms. We have a DVD/VCR combo in the living room, and DVD player in the masters with some VHS and DVDs provided. There is also secure wireless internet throughout the property, plus plenty of books, board games, and puzzles to pass the time.
 
To make your stay hassle free, no parking passes are required (so no towing!) and there is enough parking for 5 vehicles, including two covered spaces. There are also electrical outlets in the carport area if you would like to bring or rent a golf cart during your stay (they are street legal in Carolina Beach.)  
 
We are approximately 1.5 miles from the boardwalk area, where there are restaurants and shopping galore, an arcade and amusement rides during the summertime. Also every Thursday night there are fireworks on the beach which you can enjoy down by the boardwalk or from the beach in front of our unit. Sunday nights there is a family movie at the lake (about 2 miles away). We are also two blocks from the fishing pier where you can buy bait and licenses, and only 4 blocks from the access to Freeman 4x4 Park. 
 
This is a flexible check-in day rental, but if you are interested in booking less than a week, please contact us as we can provide you with nightly prices. 
 
Finally the owners live two houses down - so if you encounter any vacation hiccups they will be there personally to get your vacation back on track. They have also been Islanders since 2007, so they know a lot of great places to go, things to do, and restaurants to try.

My husband and I are originally from Minnesota. In 2007, we decided to be adventurous and move to another state. We had visited the Outer Banks on our honeymoon, but it was tough to find housing and jobs on the Banks. Someone mentioned the Wilmington area, specifically Carolina Beach. We'd never even heard of it, but decided to visit and see what Pleasure Island was all about. We fell in love with the place the minute we drove over the bridge - you immediately felt like you were on vacation. A few years later, we were fortunate enough to buy our first place at the beach, and we decided we wanted to create a business where people can come to enjoy our wonderful beach and spend sometime reconnecting as a family. Six years later, we own four rental homes that we run ourselves and enjoy having people join us year after year to spend and admire beautiful Carolina Beach.

Why Marcus Matzke chose Carolina Beach

We are very particular about the properties that we have purchased. When we first moved, we lived on the North End and really enjoyed how quiet and low traffic the area is compared to other places on the island. It is a mile from the boardwalk, but it is also away from all the rowdy hotels and bars as well. You can come home and know you will get a good night's sleep. Many of our neighbors live on the island year-round so it really feels like home away from home. Also we liked how close we lived to this property, so we can be at the service of our customers, if the need should arise.

What makes this Condo unique

My favorite part of this home is the balcony. It is large and the view is so wonderful. It is so close to the beach you can watch your kids from it, you can take in all the sights and sounds of the beach while sitting in the shade. Also the sunrises are unbelievable and it's always a treat when dolphin fins can be seen peeking over the waves. Also, you should look for the huge manta ray jumping out of the waves to catch fish - even after living here for 6 years I get giddy at the sight!

We loved this house for our HUGE family. Enough beds, dishes, space for everyone; right on the beach; tons of stuff to do around the area. The owners were there when we checked in and made sure everything was up to par. Would definitely stay here again.

Another wonderful family vacation in Carolina Beach


What a great location on The beach! We haven’t been that far North on the beach before and found it to be a bit quieter but frankly, any location is perfect on Carolina beach?? Just a few observations.... I absolutely understand how hard the beach climate can be on a property! I would just say that the beachfront decks could use some work, but having said that, it didn’t affect our enjoyment of them! A couple of chairs in the living room of the upstairs unit could use repair or replacement, as one of them doesn’t have sufficient cushions in the seat... it sinks quite low when you sit down, and for most people, not a problem, but for anyone physically challenged, it could present a challenge. The other chair is really off balance, albeit comfortable. In the lower unit, it was great... very quiet and nicely appointed. The beachfront master was beautiful and very comfortable! My only suggestion there would be the master bath in that room. I didn’t feel it had been cleaned well enough and initially, I thought the tub was very dirty but it was actually just some staining of the tub. I will say that there was a fair amount of sand left in the tub. We had a large group of people, 26 at one point, and occupied the entire house. Our youngest was 14 months old and a pack n play and booster seat or high chair would have been great! I would also mention that ahead of our visit, there was a very negative review concerning cleanliness and bugs. I have already addressed the only issue I saw with cleanliness. As far as bugs, specifically cockroaches, we saw a few... mostly at night on the decks. However, it’s a beach environment, with high humidity and so this is not a surprise or unexpected. We did not find the situation to be what was previously described. We saw Marcus a couple of times throughout our week, and really appreciated him checking up on us! All of the above comments are observations, not criticisms,.... we had a wonderful week with our family in this house!! I would stay again!!

The home was very nice and the location was amazing. We even forgot some cloths at the house and Marcus drove into Wilmington to meet me and returned them. They are truly people of integrity. I would recommend renting this beautiful house.
