Every day, and night, the sound of the ocean and breeze the food that comes with it, is designed to make your time at Rainbow House unforgettable.
The pool is huge.it's completely private, and if you have children, they simply won't leave it. Added to which it has been completely refurbished recently, and is by far the best pool on the island.
A few minutes walk and you're at the Moonshine Bar, where you can drink Pina Coladas or Bahamamamas to your heart's content and have a snack of local fish tacos. This is your dream vacation house..the privacy of a Hemingway-esque home (see photos).

All and fees are included in the price, the only payable extras are electrics (metered) which is paid to the Stella Maris resort at the conclusion of your stay, and an 'end' bill of $200 which saves you to having do it!
Also there are often flight credits from Nassau to Long Island and enquiries on these should be made to Jill Smith at the Stella Maris resort.

Loads of marine style activities available..deep sea and reef fishing, legendary bone-fishing, scuba and snorkel and NEW to the list..visit the island farm and cuddle a little pig, goat watch, see the pigs swimming around in the ocean-hilarious.
Or go for a bike ride, walk the spectacular shoreline and wash your mind of day to day concerns.

Fully equipped with luxury inside the hotel, outside lounge chairs and table, the house has been routine upgraded and renovated, has split unit air conditioning, sliding french and luxury fittings everywhere look.

Janice and Alasdair Ritchie live in New York State, about an hour North of the city.
They have a home in the UK too, in a sleepy Oxfordshire village where they spend some time visiting grandchildren.
They originally bought Rainbow House from Katharine Jahr in 2011. She and her husband had built the house 30 years previously. Alex Jahr was one of the famous Gruner and Jahr publishing dynasty family with a fanatic interest in deep sea fishing, so many of his trophies adorn the walls of Rainbow House and the nearby Stella Maris boutique hotel.
The house was built to exacting German quality standards.

Rainbow House represents all that is beautiful in a Caribbean villa. It is set in a marine environment which changes continuously. The sunsets and sunrises have to be seen to be believed and the gazebo overlooking the ocean is a place to just contemplate the world. Sitting underneath the canopy of this simple edifice is the fastest stress reliever known to man. The whole experience as you look out to the horizon, seeing the odd cruise ship or fishing boat heading for Cuba or Florida, with the waves washing the coral right beneath your feet, and the large Infinity pool behind you..guarantees you will leave Rainbow a calmer, totally relaxed person.

We had a magical time staying at Rainbow House! Spectacular views, wonderful location in Palm shaded Stella Maris. Everything we needed for cooking meals and comfortably gathering. The house is so wonderfully air that we ever on turned the ac! Definitely hope to return.

Peaceful & Perfect


Rainbow House just perfect for our party of 6 (3 siblings and spouses). The 3 bedrooms were placed so that we all all enjoyed our privacy. The kitchen and dining/living quarter spacious were for our meals and socializing. We enjoyed the proximity to the Stella Maris Resort for dining and beverage options and their very friendly and helpful staff. Long Island is a peaceful, friendly and beautiful place to explore. Take time to visit the sites/beaches from its top to its bottom!
