Quiet Western Maine retreat

An absolutely stunning view of Twitchell Pond, at this spacious, very well appointed cabin. My friends and family enjoyed fishing, swimming and hanging out on the deck. Great base for trips into NH and southern Maine without having to deal with the crowds. Would stay again if back in the area.

Beautiful lakefront home

You get exactly what you see in the photos. The lake is beautiful clean and peaceful. The fish, well they weren\'t exactly on our side to be caught but had fun trying.

Beautiful cabin...awesome view!

The first thing that you notice the cabin and the view from the deck. The second thing you notice how clean and maintained it is from the inside. All the amenities are present inside the home with a well equipped kitchen. We stayed for 4 nights and it was very relaxed experience.

Beautiful Cabin, Relaxing Weekend

My husband, son, and l had a fantastic weekend at Michael\'s cabin. The views of the lake from the cabin were amazing and offered the relaxation we were looking for. The cabin itself is incredibly clean and well appointed- there wasn\'t much more we could have asked for. The Local Hub is just a short drive down the road and has delicious breakfast and sandwiches. Thanks Michael for letting us enjoy your beautiful property!

Quaint and Quiet Cabin with a Beautiful View

The pictures do not do it justice. This is a lovely home and is kept up extremely well. Plenty of space. The area is extremely quiet and peaceful. Michael was very nice to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. Aside from linens, the cabin has everything you need, from appliances to silverware. The gas stove gives off plenty of heat on a cool fall evening, but if you do get chilly, there a plenty of blankets as well! The internet was a little slow, but if you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place!

Enchanting!

The cabin is charming, the views spectacular, just what we expected! Michael was very accommodating. The description of the house and property was on point, no surprises. We seeked an Autumn hideaway and that’s just what we found. Tritchell Pond is spectacular, we hung out on the deck fishing quite a bit. The weather was wet n windy mostly, preventing us from taking the boat out, but we loved our stay nonetheless. On the way home we stopped in Cape Elizabeth Maine for lobster at the Lobster Shack. Well worth the detour. Thank you Michael!!

Awesome place!

Quiet, peaceful and very relaxing!

Clean, Organized, Well equipped, Great Location & View, Owner Accommodating, Paved Road.

We flew into Bangor, so the less we packed.... the better. Explained that we didn’t want to carry linens for bed and he agreed to provide same for us. Although there are plenty of water toys & bikes, we instead used this cabin as a base, as we put over 1800 miles on a rent car in 2 weeks. FYI, Conway, NH is 1 hr away, The Mt Washington Auto Road is 1 hr away, Bethel & Auger Screw Falls is 30-45 min’s away.... for examples. We did use the outdoors gas grill two nights, which was very clean & in good condition. (Bring matches or a lighter). There is a covered inside porch, however, we preferred having our sunset cocktails sitting out on the 2nd level deck, looking across to Beautiful Twitchell Pond (should be referred to as a lake), it’s mountainous surroundings, plus a chimpmunk we named “Chippy” who would do his best most nights to try and find berries in the bushes in front of the deck (Cocktails, a view & a show... for free). The location of this cabin is very private, except for the occasional car going by. Also, you could go swimming or fishing off the dock or via the attached row boat..... or not too far down the road, there is a designated swimming beach (clear water & small pebble bottom) with cement picnic tables. There is a covenience store “The Hub” 4.9 miles away and The Beautiful Little Village of Bethel has a grocery store, several pubs (Our favorite was The “Sunday River Brewing Company” which BTW, has their on property Bakery)… (The Apple Fritters are killer). If you like beautiful old homes, you might want to tour Bethel by car or foot, but you must see Main Street Bethel by walking it. Almost forgot, there are covered bridges in Conway, near Bethel & Andover. DO NOT TRUST YOUR GPS TO FIND THE BRIDGES IN ANY OF THESE AREA..... INSTEAD ASK IN EACH TOWN. YOUR GPS WILL GET YOU CLOSE TO THE RIGHT CHURCH, BUT, YOU’LL FINDING YOURSELF FRUSTRATED AND IN THE WRONG PEW, IF YOU GO AHEAD AND TRUST THE “GPS LADY”. To end this epistle, I feel compelled to circle the wagon, back to Michael’s Cabin. If you want all or any of what I have mentioned above and are the type to appreciate & respect other peoples property..... then this is a cabin you might want to consider staying in. If we ever return to Maine, we would seriously consider renting this cabin again, it it was available at the time we needed it.

Relaxing Getaway

We had an amazing stay at this property over the long holiday weekend. The owner, Michael, was great at communicating before our stay. This was helpful so that we were both on the same page in regards to our expectations as guests, as well as his expectations as an owner. We were very happy with the rental as soon as we arrived and could not have asked for a more relaxing and peaceful getaway with family. The water is literally right there and we enjoyed our mornings and afternoons on the sun porch, if we were not out enjoying the pond on the canoe. The home had everything we needed for our stay, and no issues came about, which made the stay that more enjoyable. Thank you again for everything Michael, and we hope that we can make the trip to Greenwood again some day!

Lovely Lake Cabin in the Western Maine Mountains!

We just returned from our second stay at this delightful cabin on Twitchell Pond. The cabin was very clean, well equipped and situated in a gorgeous area. You really get a lake cabin in the woods feel here! Our days began and ended on the deck, overlooking the water and surrounded by birches and pines and the rest of our time was spent canoeing and swimming the pond, hiking the nearby White Mountains National Forest and exploring the food options in Greenwood & Bethel. We highly recommend the handy Local Hub Market & Cafe and Good Food Store in Bethel. We\'ve enjoyed fall and summer stays at this place and look forward to trying winter next! Thank you Michael for a lovely stay in Maine!
