Charming house in lovely area

We had a fabulous fortnight at Le Celle del Farinaio. Mauro was a very helpful and generous host, with information on and suggestions about what to do in the area. He welcomed us with home grown tomatoes and pastries from the local bakery and delivered home grown figs no less than 3 times over our stay. When one member of our group asked if he could lend the a needle and thread he took their item away with him and returned with it fully repaired within the day. Any concerns/questions we had were answered or attended to immediately. He couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. The villa is actually 2 semi detached houses, each with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. However we used it as one and it didnt cause any problems as you could go from one to another both at the front and back of the property. We were 3 families with young children and there was plenty of space for us all. The open plan layout downstairs was perfect when preparing food. Each house also had a laundry room, one of which we used as a baby’s bedroom as there was plenty of room for a cot and it was nice and dark. The gardens were lovely with lots of different places to sit and enjoy the wonderful view. We all loved the pool, table tennis, table football, trampoline and pop up badminton. There were also a few pool inflatables and skittles so lots to keep us entertained. The children loved blackberry picking in the garden. The area felt a bit more off the beaten track than more central Tuscany and we enjoyed visiting the lake towns of Passignano sul Trasimeno and Castiglione del Lago. Cortona was lovely and Siena was roughly an hour away and an easy half day trip. The children loved the Waterpark near Monte san Savino half an hour away. We also enjoyed a pizza night at the house - Mauro and his family made lots of different pizza which we hadn’t tried before and they were really delicious. We would recommend confirming price etc before though as although we loved it it was more expensive than going to a restaurant. Overall we had a great time and would thoroughly recommend the villa.

We spent 10 Wonderful days at this lovely property, enjoying the stunning views.

A perfect place to mix relaxation with travel adventures in Tuscany. Mauro was a kind and attentive host. We will always remember the special meals prepared in the outdoor hearth. An exceptional experience that created lasting memories.

Perfect family holiday spot

Our family of 13 took over Mauro\'s villa for a wonderful week long reunion in June. The villa was perfect for our four families with great facilities to gather and to separate. The pool was always pristine and well attended. The pizza oven was a favorite feature. Do not miss the opportunity for a splendid meal featuring local dishes prepared by Mauro\'s very talented son with the support of Mauro and his wife. A true highlight! Once we found the villa and got the hang of remotely opening the gate and gunning our van up the driveway we found the villa conveniently located to enjoy day trips to Lake Trasimeno, Cortona, Sienna and Firenze.
