Description

Sea Lavender Cottage in Mid Coast Maine is ready to be enjoyed!  Sited within feet of Great Salt Bay in Newcastle. This recently "minted" cottage sports creative architectural touches, extensive cottage focused style and amenities, fresh furnishings that are both functional and whimsical, all new appliances and fixtures, an appearance and attitude that invites and inspires relaxing engagement with all of nature's salt water activity in Maine's first marine protected resource.  You share this natural beauty with eagles, osprey, blue herons, loons, an occasional seal, prehistoric horseshoe crabs, oyster farms, and in the spring, over a million alewives passing by the dock to spawn in the freshwater of nearby Damariscotta Lake.  The very first guests said they come to Maine each summer to explore and discover all the unique activities of coastal Maine and its villages.  Yet they found Sea Lavender Cottage so comfortable, joy filled , and emotionally fulfilling, they did not want to leave each day....except to launch the kayaks and join the beauty of the Bay.  Now it is your turn...

Sea Lavender Cottage was created in 2016 by the owners of Beckoning Bay Cottage which opened in 2009. Both Cottages have had nearly full seasonal occupancy, mostly with returning clients, and many enthusiastic reviews. With these two cottages on adjoining properties, more people have the opportunity to enjoys the many charms of Mid Coast Maine, the relaxing setting of Great Salt Bay, and nearby access to US Route One.

The MBR is extra large with a King bed and an ensuite bath. The second BR is less roomy but has a full size bed and a directly adjacent full bath.

Great place with a spectacular view!

My wife and I really enjoyed staying at David\'s place. Great guy, fantastic setting and a charming town. We\'ll be back!

Charming home directly on the water. Super clean and decorated to perfection! Great central location

We are already booked for next year! We loved this cute little cottage and felt so comfortable and taken care of! David is the perfect host and his home is lovely! If you are on the fence about renting here...hop on over! You won’t regret it!

We loved it

The serenity of Sea Lavender is captivating. The cottage is furnished perfectly with all the updated appliances and finishes. Bright and sophisticated charm. Owner David was gracious and attentive to any need, question we had. He even checks on your return home. We will be back.

Wonderful Sea Lavender

This was our third summer at Sea Lavender. Every element of the cottage continues to be \"5 star\". David, the owner anticipates every need, convenience and luxury. The magnificent view of the Great Salt Bay from all the rooms is delightful. Being adjacent to the water with a dock holding your choice of canoes or kyakas is so convenient. After a day of seeing the sites, exploring the small towns and driving in the intriguing country side, you are so \"happy\" to come home to this cottage. We could go on and on about this place, but it is just the wonderful.

Another wonderful vacation at Sea Lavender Cottage

We had breakfast on the deck every morning with our new friends, a pair of bald eagles on the island across the bay. Loved watching them, they were simply spectacular. We enjoy everything about the cottage from the water views from every window to the porthole shower. Don loved cooking in the kitchen entertaining our friends and then sitting down in a beautiful dining setting overlooking the bay. The cottage is simply beautiful and relaxing. We look forward to our vacation next year.
