Description

Eco Cottage Vedere is an old stone-built Venetian house that has belonged to our family for over 200 years. It is located in Vederoi, a small Venetian village.
 
It is 8 km away from Rethymnon so it gives you the opportunity to explore the city as well as the countryside.
 
It is a 192 sq. meter house that has two levels. The ground floor has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a living room, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. A wooden staircase leads you to the upper floor that has a bathroom, dressing area, and a bedroom that opens onto a veranda. There you have a view to the village and can enjoy the sunset. 
 
The house’s grounds consist in an extensive compound: the central courtyard has three additional dining areas and a grill;  a side courtyard off the kitchen has yet another dining area, hammock, and a vegetable garden; finally, off there is another area with a swimming pool and two lounge areas (one on an upper lawn) with umbrellas so you can sunbathe to your heart’s content. The property is filled with flowers and potted herbs.
 
We offer our guests olive oil from our trees, house wine, and raki. We live in the same village 20 m. away from your house so we can help you in any way so that you can have an unforgettable holiday!

Very high standard, tasteful and relaxing


Wow was the first word we all said when we saw the eco cottage. Our family of four stayed in this beautiful home, situated in a quite hamlet, few minutes drive to restaurants and small supermarket this August. Eleni and Janni have worked so hard to provide you with everything you would need to have a fantastic stay. The name cottage does not do the property justice, the outside area has four different areas to choose from to eat! Internally all mod cons inc juicer and oranges were provided and Elani even cooked two traditional meals inc one for the vegitarians! All areas are very spacious and the whole of the property inside and out is spotless. The location although not directly on the beach is in a very peaceful setting, you can hear the bells from the goats and the cockerel. We visited lots of different beaches, went into the mountains and swam in a lake plus historical sites, none were too far away. The pool was used every day on our return from our trips and it was delightful. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Best choice ever


We spent 1 week in this house and we can talk only in superlatives about the place and the hospitality we were surrounded by!!! It\'s a fully renovated traditional house meeting the highest modern hygenical standards while reserving its original atmosphere and antique details. It\'s super clean, very quiet and comfortable. In the garden you can chose between different spots to enjoy the swimming pool or a barbecue or just sit and listen to the cicadas. One of the bedrooms has also a large terrace with a beautiful view of the hills. We appreciated very much the owner\'s professionalism and kindness (and cooking!) and also the local products she\'d filled the fridge before our arrival and gave us after. For eating out you have 3 nice tavernas within a 5 minute drive. We highly reccomend this place.

Luxurious estate in the heart of a small village.


We researched many places to stay in Crete and this one was a perfect choice! The owners have restored and expanded on their family home, making it a truly elegant and comfortable home. The photos do not do it justice -- it is much more spacious than it looks, with over 5 dining areas to choose from. We stayed for a week -- 4 adults and 2 children -- and had enormous amounts of space. It was incredibly quiet, beautifully restored with antiques interspersed with modern amenities. The pool was fantastic for the kids (and adults). The airconditioning was great to have if it got hot too. There is a fresh vegetable garden off the kitchen that we were free to use and pick our own tomatoes. We arrived to a kitchen generously filled with fresh fruit, Cretan specialities, local feta, and anything we could need. And Eleni\'s husband even cooked lamb for us (and Eleni an eggplant dish) to introduce us to traditional food. We couldn\'t have been happier and better taken care of. The village is ideal for kids -- shops and all just 10 minutes away by car. It is a very authentic experience, not at all touristy in feeling - and great to be so close to a city (Rethymno) and have a central base from which to explore Crete. All six of us felt like this was our favorite place during our trip to Greece. HIghly recommended. A gem of a place.

Relaxing the upper class


We have allowed a total of 14 days in this beautiful accommodation army. The helpfulness of Eleni knows no bounds. Also not the local amenities. Everything is available and tastefully decorated with much attention to detail. The house is located in a small, remote village with a total of 23 residents. Absolute peace is guaranteed here. It is only a 10-minute walk to the above located Dort. Again, you are among themselves and can eat in small, typical taverns delicious and reasonably priced. The starting point is also to be highlighted, as the house is located almost exactly in the middle of the island - just 10 minutes from Rethymnon.
