Description

Recently updated, this charming oceanfront with private pool will please any crowd. Located on the non-driving portion of the beach and with large floorplan to accommodate the whole family and more! With 4 bedrooms, Dolphin View can sleep up to 12 people. What’s more, it's located in the coveted Golden Mile of St. Augustine and located just steps from the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. When you’re swimming in its in-ground pool you’ll hear the never-ending rolling of the waves on sand; from the balcony that spans the width of the house, you’ll have glorious views of dolphins and whales playing just beyond the surf.

Even indoors, you’ll have spectacular views of the ocean, the white sands, and the seemingly endless skies. Large sliding glass doors separate the living/dining area from the balcony and let in the sunshine and the salt-kissed breeze. If you're in the mood for a little bit of fresh air, the large wraparound deck with views of the pool and ocean will enchant you for hours at a time. The living area's rustic wood floors, paneled walls, and ceiling beams frame the ocean vistas perfectly, and the plush blue sofas echo the waves and sky outdoors.

There’s plenty of room in the living area for everybody to gather around and watch a movie on the flat-screen HDTV or play cards at the coffee table in front of the fireplace. Sprawl out on the couches with your laptop or tablet to surf the web--Dolphin View has free WiFi--or enjoy an afternoon nap. The sofas open into beds, each of which can sleep 2 so that the living room can double as pajama party central at night!

The dining table easily seats 6, and there’s room for 3 more at the adjacent breakfast bar. While dinners together are a highlight of family vacations, once in a while you may want to linger over an adults-only meal. In that case, serve the kids at the breakfast bar; they’ll love being “on their own.”

Should you want to dine alfresco--and given that you’re only yards from the ocean, why wouldn’t you?--the ground-floor deck has a picnic table with benches. There are also smaller tables with chairs on the balcony and poolside. After your meal, why not take a short 10 minute ride to St. Johns County Ocean Pier to walk off that hearty meal and watch the sunset.

Though there’s a plethora of restaurants nearby, eating at home is sometimes more fun (and economical). Our fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to whip up coffee and toast in the morning or to prepare a feast for a crowd. From appliances, pots, and pans to serving pieces and tableware, it has just about everything you need. There’s also a wealth of storage space, so you can stock up on groceries at the beginning of your stay and not waste additional vacation time at the supermarket.

Dolphin View includes a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a dryer for the same reason: Why spend time doing chores when you can be swimming in the pool or searching for shells on the beach? Better yet, just 18 minutes north, head to downtown St. Augustine for a stroll down St. George Street where you can shop and visit all the major attractions.

With so much fun in the sun right outside your door, you’ll want to be well rested to enjoy it all. That’s easy in Dolphin View’s 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom is a true retreat. A whopping 600 square feet, it includes a flat-screen TV and a luxurious king-size bed, from which you can look out onto the Atlantic. The bedroom opens directly onto the balcony, so you can step out to relish the sun rise without waking the rest of the house. And before bed, you can savor a nightcap under the stars before turning in.

Two of the remaining bedrooms have queen-size beds--perfect when vacationing with other couples. The kids will love making the 4th bedroom, with 2 twin beds and its own TV, their personal clubhouse.

The house’s 3 full bathrooms should make mornings much more orderly--no long queues to use the shower! More than enough clean towels and bedding will be ready and be wait.

What with the spacious pool, and the beach and ocean just beyond, there’s more than enough to keep you happily busy without having to drive anywhere. Did we mention that Dolphin View has one of the largest pools on the beach and is one of three houses in the vicinity that is oceanfront and has a private pool? If by chance you're feeling a bit adventurous, there is plenty more to do just a short ride away: historic St. Augustine, Marineland, shops, golf courses… Even the Orlando theme parks are only a day trip away.

Just about the only thing, you can’t do when you stay at Dolphin View is complain about being bored! So what’s stopping you from making your reservation today?

Perfect location!

Let me say up front that we really love the property and are planning to book it again. The location is perfect. The house was well suited for our family (3 adult couples and two small dogs). Having 4 bedrooms let us have one for the crates for the dogs so we could secure them when we went out. The beach is so close and very clean. The pool was exactly what we needed, and there were plenty of lounge chairs. The kitchen and outdoor grill met our needs well, for the days we chose to stay in. Walking distance to ice cream and several restaurants! We\'ve stayed in a lot of beach rental properties, and this one is tops! As I said, we are highly likely to rent again. There were just a few \"small\" things that detracted from what otherwise would be a 5-star rating. First, we arrived at 4:10 pm and the cleaning crew was still working. They told us they needed another hour. After having arranged our arrival to coincide with the time we were to have access to the house, this was an inconvenience. We should have been notified in advance. Second, the digital lock on the front door was not functional. We did not discover this until we had been out and thought we had locked the house, only to discover later that it had been unsecured and the lock was not functional. When we made a maintenance call about this, we never received a return call to let us know it had been addressed while we were out. Third, we had a smoke detector that went off spontaneously. Thankfully, this happened during daytime hours, because it took all day for maintenance to finally take care of this item. Would not have wanted this to happen at night! I do suggest that management let renters know that landscape and pool maintenance people will enter the property unannounced. Maybe indicate in the listing. We were rather surprised by this, and as luck would have it, the dogs were inside when this happened - so no unfortunate situations arose!

Had a Great Time

Great location, good service, bed could have been more comfortable, but all in all nice. Planning on returning next year.

Perfect Beach House

This is the perfect beach house and we have stayed in a few. The pool is as big and clean as the picture shows. Upstairs air is awesome! The master bedroom is as large as the picture shows.

Great house !!

Everything was great, but oven did not work. We didn\'t end up needing it.

Recommended!

Downstairs sliding doors facing the ocean need lube, very hard to open. Suggestions for maybe some paint in a few spots, wood floor is showing Sun wear. Clean and furnished nicely for our stay. Pleasant office staff.
