My husband and I booked a last minute trip with my in-laws, and we were so pleasantly surprised by this gem of a find. We were a bit apprehensive because of the price (the lowest we found) and the single review, and when first arriving the apartment complex appeared a bit grungy and outdated from the exterior. But as soon as we entered the condo, we realized our good luck. The condo is clean and the space is well partitioned so that each room is separate and private. One of the rooms has sliding doors which some might find less private, but it worked perfectly fine for us. The kitchen was pretty well stocked (we only had to buy oil, coffee, and whatever groceries we wanted). The starter pack of toiletries and cleaning supplies was also more plentiful than I expected (we had to buy additional supplies for only half the stuff for a week\'s stay). We used the beach gear (towels, chairs, umbrellas, boogey board) and the cooler almost every day, which was such a convenience! We didn\'t even need to buy ice for the cooler as the freezer had an ice maker that was suitable for our needs. The air conditioning was a great plus. It\'s a bit on the noisy side so it\'s advised not to run it past 10PM, but we would just cool down our room and then turn on the ceiling fan at the low setting through the night. There\'s also a washer/dryer in the unit that we found useful. The location itself is quite convenient. There\'s a nice park and beach right across the street (great snorkeling spot according to my husband). Some shops and restaurants are also within a short walk. We have stayed at Kaanapali before (and were considering it again), but I really think Kihei was best for us this trip since we did several day trips around Maui. The checking in/out process was also very easy and painless. We had a slight issue when we forgot the entry code, but were able to resolve just by calling the office (finding the office number was a bit difficult though so I suggest logging it somewhere besides your phone...I had left my phone locked in the condo). Overall we were very happy with our stay and will certainly recommend this condo to friends/family planning a stay in Kihei.
Spotless and large condo with plenty room for 2 couples. Beach chairs, beach umbrellas, coolers, great lanai, next to a wonderful beach with really good snorkeling for fish and turtles just past the rocks! Location was perfect, easy to get to everywhere on the island without a lot of traffic. Highly recommend!
3rd time at Haleakala Shores. Right across the street from a child friendly beach. Spacious 2 bedrooms. Would come back again for sure.
