We loved it!

What an amazing location to have a little house right on Amber Lake! The paddle boat and the kayaks were a great bonus as well as the fire ring near the water. It was quiet and private and perfect. We saw the Aurora on the first and third nights, (amazing), a moose on the second day while driving the gravel road out and on our last day we had the pleasure of spending time with Nancy and Hal who manage the property. I can’t say enough about what wonderful people they are! They invited us to their home to spend the afternoon there, meeting their dogs and exploring the area a little. It was fantastic all around!

We LOVED it!

We absolutely loved our stay in your beautiful cabin. We spent time on the lake using the canoes and paddleboat. We sat around a campfire and even had a fire in the wood stove a couple evenings due to the cooler temps. Your little spot in Alaska was exactly what we were looking for. You had everything we needed to cook our own meals and the beds were the most comfy we have ever had in a vacation rental. We went to Denali and spent a day in Talkeetna and we loved it all! We will definitely be back!

Great place!

Everything was great (especially the caretakers!)

Loved it!

If you are looking for a peaceful lake experience this is a perfect location. The lake is quiet and calm offering amazing views of the sky. If you are fortunate to hit it on warm days the swimming is refreshing. There is plenty of nice water equipment to use and the outdoor patio offers wonderful lake views. The cabin has everything you could imagine needing and is very spacious and roomy so great for our family of four or for larger groups. The cabin is isolated down a dirt road so a great place to go if you want to get away. If you are thinking of day tripping to Denali or further north from here you should be mindful of the distance of travel. We definitely loved our stay here but something to note about this VRBO is that there are caretakers who oversee this property and although extremely lovely folks there is an engagement with them that was different then other VRBO we have experienced. So I think it is good to know that it is a package deal. Lastly we did not see this anywhere in the posting prior to renting but once arrived noted in the visitor book that there was a recommended 15% gratuity for the caretakers.

Delightful off-grid property with all the amenities of home!!

What a wonderful location, my family has spent time on the Kenai ( Girdwood, Homer) and were looking for something different. This delightful property was just perfect. Very private and intimate. We enjoyed exploring the local area of Trapper Creek and Amber Lake. Talkeetna was super cool, my 9 year old daughter even loved the place. Well she would love anyplace that had a cat as a former mayor.Well worth the drive from Anchorage, we are considering a fall or spring trip next time. This home has everything a family needs to have a cozy comfortable visit.
