Description

Couples or families are welcome at this beautifully renovated, immaculate cottage in a little fishing village at the mouth of the New Meadows River.  It's only an hour north of Portland and just a short walk to the high tide mark. Wake up to southwesterly views of Casco Bay, breathe in the salt air, and watch the comings and goings of local lobstermen as you adjust to a slower pace.  In fact, any one of them would be happy to provide you with dinner fresh from the boat.  Although not directly on the ocean, the cottage does have water views. Access is down a short right of way where kayaks, which may be rented nearby and delivered, can be launched from a small pebble beach. Adirondack chairs and a cedar picnic table for guests overlook the water. The beach, with its tide pools, sea glass, and other treasures, is a magnet for children of all ages, and one that will provide hours of entertainment.
 
A kitchen, dining/living room, sun porch, bedroom with twin beds, and bathroom complete the downstairs. Upstairs are two more bedrooms, each with a full-size bed. A pack 'n play lite (fits under one year old), high chair, and child safety gate are available for families with little ones. 
 
Local area: Bath, with its many antique stores and the Chocolate Church Arts Center, is only a fifteen-minute drive. Easy day trips can be made to charming Camden or Boothbay Harbor, L. L. Bean and numerous outlets in Freeport, and the historic Old Port in Portland. Cultural attractions in the area include the Portland Museum of Art in downtown Portland, the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and the Farnsworth Museum up the coast in Rockland.  At nearby Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theater offers professional summer theater at its best. The local area has much to offer, and whether you prefer to stay active or relax in the sun at the beach, you'll enjoy your stay in these bright, breezy surroundings.

I'm a retired middle school teacher and live in Phippsburg, just a few miles from my cottage. It gives me so much pleasure to be able to provide a bright, cheerful, clean cottage for guests to relax, reconnect with family, and enjoy all that midcoast Maine has to offer.

Why Kathy chose Sebasco Estates
The cottage was built in the early 1900s and has been in the family for many years. In 2005, I took the plunge and spent six months doing a complete renovation. It was a busy time, as anyone who's ever built or remodeled a home knows, but it was also loads of fun and very rewarding to see the end product. When they were kids, my children spent all summer down by the shore, swimming at the little beach in the picture, climbing over the rocks, and spending endless hours checking out the changes since the last tide - just what kids are supposed to do on vacation.

We have stayed in the Cozy Maine Cottage many times during our annual fall trip to Maine. I think this was our sixth visit! We hope to return again. As always, the cottage was clean and comfortable. Kathy is always helpful and easy to communicate with. Our kids (ages 5 and 9) enjoyed playing the games, and we found a good family movie to watch one night in the DVD collection. There\'s plenty to do in the area, and the cottage is a great part of our family fall tradition!

Our stay in Kathy\'s cottage was delightful. She provided us with a list of extras that would be at the cottage so as to lighten our packing. Everything was there and the cottage was clean and comfortable. You could smell the water and hear the boats coming and going. A wonderful retreat!

Quiet and comfortable


Neat, clean, attractive and comfortable cottage with view of rocky coastline in a quiet neighborhood of other seaside homes. Cozy sunroom with tv, comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. We were very happy with the quiet atmosphere.
