Welcome to Unicorn Cay on the Island of Eleuthera,   "A place so magical surely unicorns could live here."   
 
This luxurious beachfront estate sits on 12 acres with 450 feet of pink sand beach.  Unicorn Cay was built by a famous English writer and explorer, Rosita Forbes.  It is based on the style of a French Chateaux complete with a central courtyard and an entryway flanked by turrets.  
 
The home was recently beautifully restored retaining the original Abaco pine floors, wood work, and native stone.  The central courtyard has a covered patio overlooking the pool.   The pool is heated during the winter months.   Each of the four bedrooms have private  entrances from the courtyard.  The master also has access from the library.  The large gourmet kitchen is equipped with a double Sub-Zero refrigerator, electric stove top and range, coffee nook, gathering island, and all the small appliances and utensils that you can think of.  The home also offers a formal dining room, large great room with hand crafted walnut bar, laundry room, library, and media room.  The numerous surrounding verandas and covered patios provide quaint areas for morning coffee or afternoon socializing.  
 
The Unicorn Cay pink sandy beach spans 450 feet.   Reefs are close by for easy snorkeling.  You could walk for miles in either direction looking for beach treasures or just enjoying the incredible views.  This beach is one of the most beautiful on the island.  Kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and snorkel gear are all provided for your enjoyment.  
 
Services:  Housekeeping will be provided prior to arrival, after you leave, and once mid-week. (A minimum of 7 nights is needed for the mid-week cleaning.)  Additional cleaning services can be arranged.   A private chef can be provided upon request.  A special event coordinator is available for destination wedding or group event planning.   A golf cart is provided for use within the property.    In addition, a back up generator and cistern will provide utilities when electricity and water go off on the island.   (This is a common experience on the island.)   
 
Rates:  The base rate of $3500 (7 nights) includes rental of the main house and master suite.  The main house consists of the kitchen, dining room, great room, library/media, laundry room, verandas and courtyard pool area.  Included also is access to Unicorn Cay beach and the use of a golf cart within the property.  Each additional guest is $70, therefore, the  master and all 3 additional bedrooms (6 guest) the rate is $6440 for the week. (7 nights).

Stunning beach, impeccable Villa, lovely setting and friendly Bahamians


Jane and Scott have gone to extraordinary trouble to ensure an experience unlike any other you will have. They are well known and respected on this slender 110 mile island community. In short, do yourself and six island loving friends a huge favor and book soon. It is as strangely perfect as a vacation stay can be, hence it is the Unicorn. We were at the Unicorn Cay about 18 months prior and had such a memorable and wonderful time that we came back. It was even better than the first time which is hard to imagine. The house and grounds are an historical and cultural masterpiece restored to near perfect condition. The kitchen made us all feel like master chefs as it is roomy and well appointed with top shelf appliances, accouterments and cutlery. The meals we prepared were unusually good and the fish was purchased off the docks the morning it was harvested. Words cannot begin to describe how much better it was than if the fish had been purchased from a store or a restaurant. The local establishments were fun, inviting and liaddd with options from a burger and fries to hogfish and corn. But as I mentioned the fish was so fresh and the kitchen so user-friendly that we rarely ate out. If you are the kind of person who would appreciate a clean beach of pink sand, good snorkeling, a gorgeous pool and an uncommonly well-maintained and decorated villa. The unicorn might be the perfect vacation experience for you and three other couples. It was for us, twice.

Wonderful for couples and groups


Jane and Scott were wonderful hosts and the house is beyond beautiful. Stocked with everything we needed for beach fun, cooking group meals, and hanging out around the pool, the layout also allowed for privacy. We hope to be back sooner rather than later. Thank you!

Incredible experience!


We have come to the Bahamas multiple times over the past 10 years and this is the most amazing accommodation we have ever seen. The location is very convenient but they house is spectacular! Very detailed and complete. Appointments to the decor are beautiful and the grounds are wonderful as well. Beach is spectacular. Kids had a great time and is definitely a favorite! Perfect luxury vacation home!


We stayed at Unicorn Cay for a week and it was pure bliss. The home is so well appointed with everything you could possibly want in terms of amenities, furniture, outdoor private spaces, linens, towels, cooking supplies, pool, loungers, ocean toys, golf cart. Owners Scott and Jane are so warm and hospitable and provided many suggestions on beaches and restaurants. We fell in love with the property and Eleuthera and can\'t recommend Unicorn Cay highly enough!
