Description

Gorgeous Ocean-front apartment with a great snorkeling spot on your doorstep. This one bedroom apartment has a large patio where you can relax and enjoy the sun. The sliding doors can be opened fully which gives you an extra large living area. We have a private beach area with a tidy pool.
The apartment is situated in Pietermaai area where you will find the best restaurants, cocktail bars and festivals the island has to offer.

The space
The apartment is situated in a monumental building which has been restored in 2012. They did a very nice job at it and kept most of the historical architecture that makes the building so unique. We've divided it into 4 one bedroom apartments with all there very own entrance. The only common place is the private beach area with natural tidy pool which is only to be used by our guests.
 
The apartment LUNA is situated on the ground floor and is very spacious. When entering the premisses you do so on a large patio overlooking the ocean. Here is where you can sit and relax to enjoy the morning sun or a cool cocktail in the afternoon. Thru large sliding doors that open fully you enter the living room and open kitchen. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you might need.
 
The bedroom with ensuite bathroom is situated in the back. It has a very comfortable queen size bed and has airconditioning.
 
Although its a one bedroom apartment, it is very spacious and has all the ingredients you need for a Wonderfull vacation.
 
Guest access
This Apartment has is own entrance and has a private patio next to the ocean.
The only thing shared is the beach area which is only shared with 3 other 1 bedroom apartments.
In front of the building there is enough parking space.
 
Interaction with guests
Any time if they need our help we are there.
 
Other things to note
Water and electricity is very expensive in Curacao. We ask you please to be considerate of this. Our electrical power system works with a Prepaid system. At arrival we top it up with Naf 15.00 guilders. which is enough for you to last a few days. There is an instruction in the house how to top it up easily.
Water is included in the price.
 
Our cleaning crew comes by every few days to clean the apartment and to make sure you have everything you need at your disposal.

wonderful stay


We had a wonderful stay at Don\'s place in Pietermaai. The LOACTION is perfect. Close walk to everything you need downtown Willemstad. Did I mention it\'s right on the water? There are MANY fantastic restaurants nearby in the various \"alleys\" of Willemstad. Always felt safe. Yup, every night you can sit out back and enjoy the ocean. The small tidal pool with ocean access is a bit rocky but pretty shallow. The surf can sometimes appear strong, however it is shallow and you should not worry. We spent $40 USD at the nearby Pharmacy to get some pre-paid electricity and this gave us 164kwh (more than enough), so don\'t fret over this. I recommend buying a small candle (tea-light), as there is a little holder outside on the back table. It makes for a nice evening. Do rent a vehicle if you plan to travel to the \"west side\" beaches. There is street/sidewalk parking out front and this section of the road is a \"one-way\". Many thanks to Don and his wife. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Don and his associates are excellent hosts. Bring water shoes. Many natural healthy coral beaches, the shoes come in handy. Rent a snorkle set (10 US/day) from scuba lodge just down the road for at least a few days. A car rental is recommended. You can get away with not having one some of the days since you\'re so close to downtown but you\'ll need one if you want to visit beaches that are on the country side.

Don is a wonderful host and so is his wife. They are immediately available if you need help or information - if not, they\'re invisible... The apartment is exactly as described, you\'ll find everything you need (and even a little more: when I arrived, there were fresh bananas, cold soda and coffee waiting for me). You\'ll feel at home in a small paradise. And you\'ll find fine restaurants and entertainment such as live music within walking distance - Pietermaai district is full of life and the only thing you should not expect is clinical silence ;

This vacation was awesome


This vacation was awesome. We arrived a little late and Don was waiting for us at the apartment. He had to change us to the apartment AQUA, which is next door to the LUNA apartment. That one was even nicer! We had everything we needed. Air-conditioned bedroom, a small kitchen fully equipped and a great terrace at the ocean! We loved to sit there listening to the waves. The neighborhood was really good, a lot of good restaurants and nice bars. Everything in walking distance. We rented a car for the beach days, because the beaches are nicer in the north of the island. Don and his wife were always there for questions and recommendations, which was quite good and convenient in a new surrounding. We felt safe and were good hosted. And the end he allowed me to take the shells from the terrace back home and now they are a good memory for us! We definitely recommend Don as a host and his apartment for a super vacation!
