On the ground floor of a beautifully restored building in Pietermaai lays the apartment AQUA. This family apartment has two bedrooms; a Master bedroom with a King-size bed and additional bedroom with 2 single beds. It has an open space living-area with a compact but fully equipped kitchen and a cozy patio right on the sea side for morning teas or afternoon cocktails. By stepping of the patio you can enjoy a private beach area with tidy pool which is shared with only 3 other 1-bedroom apartments.

The space
The apartment lays in the Pietermaai district, also called Soho of Curacao. When stepping out of the gate you will find a restaurant or cocktail bar on every corner. But when stepping back inside you will find a oasis of traquility to enjoy.
 
You enter the apartment thru beautiful Louvre doors into to the living room and open kitchen. The kitchen is compact but well equipped with microwave, washing machine, senseo coffeemaker and any other thing you might need.
 
Via a corridor you can acces the two spacious bedrooms with high ceilings and bathroom. Both rooms have airconditioning. And the bathroom has a warm water shower
 
When stepping outside on the oceanfront patio you can feel the soothing carribean breeze all day long. Just in front of the apartment there is a private beach area with a tidy pool. You don't have to go far to enjoy the underwater life because there is some great snorkeling or diving possible just in front of your doorstep.

There is a private beach area with tidy pool for you to enjoy, which is only accessible for the guest of our other 3 1-bedroom apartments.
Just outside the gate there are enough parking spaces should you wish to rent a car.

Amazing Place!!


I had such an amazing time at Don\'s Aqua house. Don was a stellar host and was always available to assist if needed. The unit is everything I expected and more. With beautiful ocean views to wake up to each day of out stay. The location was great as well. We rented a car just to get a full experience of the island. Don was so kind to as did with getting a car rental at the last minute which was greatly appreciated. All in all I would not hesitate to come back to Curaçao again and stay at Don\'s place. It was a home away from home. Thanks again Don.

wonderful stay at Don's place


We have a wonderful stay at Don\'s place. The pictures don\'t do the view justice. We were sad to leave, having spent many great days exploring the island and watching the sunset from the back patio. The apartment is very well located. We were able to walk and enjoy many of the restaurants in the area. It was great being able to access the water right from the back porch. We couldn\'t have asked for a better say in Curacao!

I booked the apartment 3 months prior to the trip. Don responded within hours of my request for reservation and was more than happy to answer my many questions up until the time of the trip. He assisted with dinner recommendations and reservations (as Christmas week is very busy in Curacao). We arrived around 11:30 pm on Christmas day and Don was at the apartment waiting for us. He even picked up some food and drinks for us and had them at the apartment. He is very friendly and always available if needed – responding within minutes of receiving a text. In sum, a great host and super friendly man. We even met his father and sister who were also very friendly and welcoming. The apartment is better than in the pictures and is very well equipped with everything that you can possibly need – even a washing machine. The A/C in bedrooms worked great and the beds were super comfortable. Flat screen TV with cable in the master bedroom and wireless internet which worked great throughout the apartment and even outside. We were out and about most days but when we were at the apartment we spent most of our time out on the huge patio (with sunshade) overlooking the small beach and water. There are even stairs leading to a small cove where you can cool off or go snorkeling. The Pietermaai district is very eclectic and fun. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the Punda district and is far enough away from the cruise ports and the crowds of tourists that arrive daily that you don’t even notice. We felt very safe walking around even late at night. It is a very lively area with great restaurants and bars. We were there during Christmas and the New Year, there was a lot of celebration and a lot of fireworks. All in all it was a great trip and I highly recommend Don as a host. I would definitely go back and stay with Don again. (Note – He has 3 other apartments on the property. Ours was a 2 bedroom and next door to the other building which looked just as nice.)
