Sleeps: 11Château des Egrons is an ancient residence set in the magical Gironde Hills with commanding views of the surrounding vineyards and countryside. It borders the Dordogne and the Lot e Garrone, with 3 acres of gardens encircled by a clipped hedge. The property has its own Tennis Court and Heated Pool for private use. There a 5 Reception Rooms and a Huge Baronial kitchen; all rooms are large with beamed ceilings and furnished with French antiques. The bed rooms are also large and well equipped and the size and ambiance of the place gives a sense of personal space. There is a covered loggia in the front courtyard, stone tables on the rear terrace, a large table and parasol in the courtyard and inside the main dining hall and the spacious kitchen that seats 12; these are all alternative places to eat and meet so plenty of variety. Closely is the river Dordogne with water-sports and boating, a championship standard golf course, lots of excellent restaurants, markets and wine producers. We offer a number of local chefs who will cook at the Château and our lady manager (English) lives nearby and is on-hand for advice and assistance. A number of our visitors return regularly and our aim is for visitors to enjoy the place and feel at home as we do.
Chateau des Egrons is our cherished home in France and we have been nurturing and tending to it for over 17 years. We are keen cooks and love the local markets and produce and the local chefs who come to cook at the property. Needless to say there is excellent wine to accompany any meal or gathering. We very much plan for our visitors to enjoy their stay in this magical place.
