Description

Our newly painted and "spruced up" home is beautifully designed and decorated. It has fabulous tongue and groove ceilings throughout, arched wooden windows lining the walls, huge decks upstairs and downstairs with a hammock and hand crafted adorandack chairs leading from the bedrooms and living area. It is important to us that our guests feel the quality of being in a comfortable home, rather than a 'house rental' or hotel. We have decorated this home with love and attention as if we were inviting our friends to come visit.
 
I love to sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and watch the titi monkeys, howler monkeys, white face monkeys, sloths, macaws, toucans and other animals and tropical birds come to play in the jungle behind our house.
 
Our house is in the back of a residential neighborhood so it has the feeling of home, rather than a tourist destination. The property is not so secluded that you feel desolate. You will love relaxing by our pool, or beautiful decks and balcony.
 
We are five minutes from everything you could want or need.

We brought our children down to Costa Rica on our honeymoon to bring them together as a blended family. On this trip we bought Casa Pura Vida. We hope that this is part of their legacy and that they will also bring their children here as well.Penny purchased this house in 2002 We fell in love with Manuel Antonio and had a dream of making it part of our lifestyle.It hasn't let us down!!!

Great location, comfortable house and amazing nature


Every morning monkeys would come visit - white face or howler monkeys and eat he mangos in the trees. They would wake you quite often dropping mangos on the tin roof. We even had the opportunity to see the white face monkeys trying to run off a boa constrictor in the trees. Iguanas and even a Jesus lizard was seen daily on the property, the lizard even gave us a show one day running across the pool. The house was in good shape, there were only four suggestions. There were a lot of light bulbs burnt out in the house, we actually moved some around while there. The screens downstairs could used replacing where there are holes, needed since no ac downstairs. The 2nd fan in the living area needs to be replaced, it doesn\'t work and the living area could really use a new couch, such as a sectional to make it more comfortable for the family during a rainstorm or hanging out in the evening. Our stay was great and would highly recommend the house and location. We had a car and it was within minutes of everything we wanted to do in the area. The laundry room came in very handy during our stay.

This is a special home, you'll feel it the moment you walk up.


What a great vacation home, we loved it and we will definitely be back again! This home is very comfortable and clean, looks like its been freshly furnished and painted inside and out. We loved the indoor/outdoor living with the huge balcony overlooking a lush little creek - the beautiful pool with plenty of patio space for hanging out. The outdoor living comes with monkeys daily, I am not kidding. The home is very comfortable, charming, and special. Plenty of private space and shared space for our family. Its located in a neighborhood so you feel a little like a local. Close to beaches, grocery stores, local restaurants, 5 star restaurants, shopping, and fun adventure options. Something for everyone, great location.

Our tropical getaway at Casa Puravida!


Our family had such a wonderful time at Casa Puravida during our tropical vacation! The house was extremely comfortable and we loved the plush landscaping! We got to see so much wildlife on the property such as monkeys, iguanas, birds and even a sloth! The beds were super cozy and I drank my coffee daily in the hammock on the patio. This was a perfect size home for us and we absolutely enjoyed cooling off in the pool after a day at the beach or site seeing. The home has been well kept and newly renovated. Would definitely come here again!

amazing hospitality


Our few days in Casa Pura Vida were just like it\'s name. it was living the good life. The home was spotless and big enough for our family of five. The pool was a lovely addition to have after a hot day. We got rained out one day and it was great to sit on the balcony and watch the weather. We also enjoyed the visiting monkeys from the balcony. The beds/mattresses are huge and very comfortable. There was good air conditioning in the bedrooms, which helped. We ate some of our meals in and had enough utensils to cook a real meal. There are restaurants close by as well. Manuel Antonio park is either a taxi or an inexpensive bus ride away. The bus stops across the street from Casa Pura Vida. My kids enjoyed the surfing but the waves were a bit too challenging for beginner/intermediate surfers. The best part was that Penny and Chris were helpful and hospitable and available to answer any and all questions. all in all, a highly recommendable place to stay in Manuel Antonio.

Wonderful week in Manuel Antonio


We recently enjoyed a one week stay at Casa Pura Vida. The home is set in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Monkeys came by several times during the week and were very entertaining. The property has a small pool that was a great way to cool off and relax after a busy day of sightseeing, shopping, etc. The immediate area has many great restaraunts most of which offer awesome sunset veiws, definately try El Avion, Ronny\'s Place, and the Gaia resort. The Beaches were beautiful and not too crowded. The rainmaker jungle hike was fantastic, we were able to take a refreshing swim in a stream fed pool along the way. Owners Chris and Penny were very accomodating and did all they could to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Would definately recommend Casa Pura Vida to family and friends.
