The two bedroomed Casa Madera was lovingly completed in July 2009.  A lot of thought went into our wooden eco-house as we wanted the airflow to be such that air conditioning wasn't necessary hence she has vast cathedral ceilings and fantastic fans.
 
The spacious master bedroom has a queensize bed and a wall closet, the second bedroom has a twin bed as well as a queen - all mattresses are comfortable orthopedics.
 
In the well equipped kitchen you'll find a full-size fridge/freezer, toaster, coffee machine, microwave/oven, kettle, blender and everything else you would expect the perfect vacation home to have.
 
The rainforest, pool and gulf view from the large terrace is beautiful - you might just be able to drag yourself away and walk through the beautiful tropical garden and down the few steps to the pool!
Just 10 minutes' drive from world-class surf.

I spent 6 fabulous years with my wife Jo raising our three kids and building our holiday rental houses in the beautiful and peaceful hills of Cuervito de Pavones. How to reach

Fly to San Jose international. Either drive down and see the country of take an internal flight to Golfito and rent a car for the last hour.

Transport system

A car is recommended . Buses are infrequent. We are remote.

Precautions

We recommend a 4x4 for the high clearance as the roads aren't all paved. Bring plenty of sunscreen and be prepared to relax.

Laid back campesino way of life.

Best time to visit

Warm all year round (shorts and T-shirts). Dry season is January to March. Green season is September to November.

Costa Rica is not cheap, but in our houses you will be self-catering, so can budget accordingly. Eat out at local sodas (Tico food) or restaurants (western tastes).
