Situated on the hillside behind my other property Coco, it enjoys incredible views of both the harbor & the Caribbean sea, plus provides absolute privacy and tranquility - ideal for groups but also very popular with couples who want an exclusive hideaway plus total privacy & maximum space.
 
Cactus offers ultimate views over the Caribbean and four bedroom opulence on a peaceful wooded hillside. Ideal if you want sheer luxury, total serenity & absolute privacy, yet be just across the road from two of the best beaches on Antigua. Also perfect if you only want to be a 10 minute walk to the Jolly Harbour complex of shops, golf, supermarket & restaurants. Plus as it is situated next door to the 5* Sugar Ridge Hotel, you have access to their restaurants, gym, spa or beauty facilities - or choose from ten independent local restaurants within easy walking distance & all offering excellent variety and value.
 
This property is in a league of its own, perched on a massive stone plinth overlooking both harbour and sea - it is a house of grand scale. Built with the sole aim to accommodate up to 8 guests in absolute comfort, whilst offering unrivaled 360' views of the Caribbean & local countryside. The infinity pool here is the largest in the area and has the stunning panoramic views. The house has been designed around the Caribbean climate and thus primarily it's ‘al fresco’ living.
 
Cactus is unsuitable for wheel chair users or those with walking difficulties, due to its hillside location. If mobility is a problem our sister propert Coco House is suggested as an alternative as it is predominately on the flat . Please ask for details

Just a short walk across the road are two of the best beaches on Antigua - of different characters but both have pristine white powder sand, pure blue water plus good beach restaurants.
 
Jolly Beach is the more commercial of the two with motorised water sports, vendor’s stalls & 'Castaways' restaurant. Valley Church is much quieter, also has a beach bar / restaurant for all day drinks & meals, but is surrounded by lakes & greenery. Also within an easy walk Jolly Harbor offers Banks, shopping, large supermarket & many restaurants.The quiet location of both houses is perfect, as it is just 20 minutes from the capital St Johns or a 30 minute private transfer from the Airport - this is a complimentary service we provide.
 
At Cactus each of the bedrooms is of exceptional size and naturally they are individually air conditioned, plus have modern bathrooms all with large walk in showers or bath. The kitchen is huge, having expansive marble worktops, top end appliances and comprehensively equipped for self catering.
 
Both properties were designed with emphasis on outdoor living, so have external dining areas, BBQ's on the patios, large private pools with pool decks offering sun and shade areas.
 
Coco and Cactus each have additional indoor dining areas, with lounge and kitchen providing wide double doors to the exterior patios to maximize the internal cooling and natural light, plus the lounges have high speed 4G broadband and WiFi .
 
Cactus's infinity pool deck is the largest in the area and equipped with very comfortable loungers which can be placed either in the sun or shade. For young children the pool has a shallow side section and at night you can progamme the underwater lighting to give a light show of your choice . If you want to be more active the upper garden has outdoor table tennis, darts and volley ball to entertain you. The mature gardens are extensive, filled with lush vegetation, plenty of flowers and many palms , plus of course an abundance of cacti !
 
For your reassurance we have Hazel our Estate Manager , who will look after your needs, great or small during your stay. On arrival all guests are met at the airport for complimentary private transfers by our driver 'Lava' and then at the Villa by Hazel, who will pass over your keys, explain the house, the beaches and surrounding attractions, plus will provide the complimentary welcome pack of necessities to get your holiday off to a great start.
 
Both the Hazel and Lava are at your disposal 24/7 should you have any problems or need any advice. We offer an 'on demand' concierge service thus virtually any special requirements can be organised for you, so please just ask.
 
It is simple to get around the Island by either car, taxi or bus, which drive on the right hand side.
 
The Capital St Johns is home of the cruise liners and international shopping can be found in the totally restored Heritage Quay. Only a few yards away you walk back into history with the old character filled buildings and streets, all safe to walk unlike some Caribbean destinations. In the countryside the many abandoned sugar mills act as a reminder of bygone trade and slavery. Nelsons dockyard is a fully restored working harbour which has won many awards and only a short distance away is Shirley heights and its colonial fort - here there are stunning views over both the sea and countryside. Worth a visit is Betty's Hope which was Antigua’s first sugar estate & some restoration of the ruins have taken place and the Mill is now totally intact.
 
Alternatively if relaxing on a sandy beach is your preference, you will be spoil for choice as it is reputed that Antigua has a different beach for everyday of the year, some of the best being just a walk away from Cactus and Coco House. Apart from the beaches there is plenty to do so perhaps try :-
 
Private Yacht Charter can be arranged for those staying at Coco or Cactus House. This is a charter for just your party from a choice of either two companies & includes free transport to & from the house. You choose either a superb modern 50ft yacht or a 'classic' 40ft Bristol - both have experienced crew to pander to your every need, including lunch with fine wines. Throughout the day all food and drink is complimentary. Sunbathe on the deck, relax in the shade, snorkel & swim off the side, ride the dingy and perhaps take a turn at the helm if you wish.
 
For younger ones there is the Donkey sanctuary which is a simple establishment, but captivating for children who can ‘adopt’ the donkey of their choice. A small fee will make them eligible for a certificate & photo, plus regular updates on their new pet. The sanctuary cares for abandoned, injured and abused animals from all over the island and is a charity. Entry is free.
 
Alternatively there is rare chance to swim with Sting-rays at Stingray City . A high speed boat takes you out to sea to a pontoon where you can stand or swim in the warm shallow water. Usually about 30 - 40 rays come in from the Ocean and you can then both stroke, hold and feed them. This is a well organised professional excursion, totally safe for children.

Awesome Property, Amazing Holiday


We\'ve just returned from a 12 night stay at Cactus House and Wow! A beautiful property, Cactus House lives up to it\'s description, photographs and many positive reviews. As a party of seven (myself, husband, our two grown up daughters and their partners and our 15 year old son) the accommodation was perfect, four bedrooms all with en-suite, well spaced out across the ground floor of the property, upstairs a huge open area with lounge, dining area and kitchen and a very large verandah to the side and front of the property overlooking the pool and the view ... oh the view!!! There was plenty of space for everyone to spread around but we found ourselves always migrating to the verandah just gazing across the picture perfect landscape, taking in the beautiful bay and the watching the sun set right in front of us. The infinity pool was something else, a perfect size, silky water, a light show at night and the same views as from the verandah - so hard to get out of! The location was also perfect for us, we could walk to various local restaurants (Miracles is superb for local food), the supermarket, harbour and 4 different beaches (our favourite was Valley Church). The driver who collected us from the airport was a lovely guy and a proud Antiguan (Big Lava). We hired him to take us on a few trips across the island during our stay, he was a superb guide and knew everyone! Hazel, who looks after the house, was equally lovely and even bought a birthday cake for our daughter who celebrated her 30th birthday while we were there (the purpose of our trip!), so thoughtful :) We found Antigua to be a wonderful island, the landscape, the people, the climate, the food ...... we all rated this trip as our best ever holiday ..... the only negative thing .... having to leave :( !!

Cactus house, the most amazing home from home.


What can we say, Cactus is perfect for all occasions, ours being our wedding on ffryes beach. The villa has everything you could possibly want. It\'s well equipped, spacious, in a great location, and has the most fabulous views you could wish for. The infinity pool was perfect for a dip and we spent many hours relaxing on the sun loungers taking in the incredible scenery. We found the area very safe, everyone very friendly, and the most beautiful beaches are close by. We had our friends and family staying at Sugar Ridge Resort so it was great being so close to them. Our adult children stayed with us at Cactus and were bowled over by it, none of us wanted to leave. A perfect villa for a perfect occasion and we will remember our stay here forever. Thank you to Hazel, Dan and Big Lava, but above all to Roger for allowing us to spend time in his wonderful Caribbean home.

Cactus was absolutely top quality.


We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the most fabulous house in a breath taking position in Antigua. We booked Cactus on a friends recommendation to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary with family and it really is the best place we have ever stayed in. The property is very new and consequently in beautifully clean condition and really excellently appointed with everything we could ever need, however one thing you can\'t buy is the stunning position and view, it really is special. The owner who is a true English \'gent\' asked us for an honest opinion of his house good and bad...well the plug stuck once in our ensuite and it rained one morning! that was the only criticism, thank you Roger and staff for a wonderful time.

Amazing location, views and house furnishings!


What a beautiful property and home, well maintained, the kitchen is extremely well stock (shapers knives needed) and plenty of space to spread out especially with a group of 7 adults. The driveway is a delightful challenge, but worth the challenge because of the beauty at the top of the drive. My group has stayed in many places over the last 20 years and this is the best by far!
