Description

Casa Sunshine is a huge beachfront family vacation villa located on the Eastern side of  Dutch St Maarten in a quiet residential area on the island known as Guana Bay. Built and ready to receive its first guests in July of 2013.  This is a casual, comfortable villa (not in the "luxurious" category) and is well suited for a large family or group of friends. 
 
 
This spacious villa offers 10 bedrooms (9 total king beds, 1 of which can be split into 2 twin beds, and 1 queen), and 10 1/2 bathrooms. It has approximately 10,000 square feet of interior living space including a covered terrace and gazebo areas.
 
It enjoys wonderful views of St. Barth’s and the Atlantic Ocean, and is adjacent to a non commercial beach. There are no beach chairs of other amenities on Guana Bay Beach and the water can be a bit rougher than some of the more protected beaches.
 
Please note that Guana Bay beach is part of a protected marine reserve where sea turtles may nest, therefore, machinery is not allowed on the beach to clean seaweed which may accumulate from time to time. In 2015 there is an abundance of seaweed on many of the St Martin beaches.  
 
Casa Sunshine has two pools, one pool for swimming, playing and exercising and the second pool for relaxing with your cocktail in the “punch” pool. This pool is also wonderful for the children.
 
 
The villa offers a massive living and dining area with a large American style, open floor plan kitchen with bar. While there is no air conditioning in the living area, the sliding glass doors can be opened to allow the trade winds in to cool down the interior space. 
 
Located on the main level of the house you’ll also find four large bedrooms and four and a half baths. An additional three bedrooms with three baths are on the second floor, and 3 brand new bedrooms with baths are on a lower level.  All bedrooms are air-conditioned and each has a TV with cable programming.
 
 
Casa Sunshine is a perfect place for total privacy and relaxation. Bring a large family or a group of friends to enjoy the sunshine and the tropical breezes that Guana Bay has to offer!  
 
Please note that beach chairs are not provided. If your party wants to enjoy a commercial beach with lounge chairs, umbrellas, water sports, restaurants and bar service, then famous Orient Bay beach is approximately 20 minutes drive from  the villa. Le Galion Beach is another family beach even closer to the villa. 
 
 
The villa does have a washer/dryer but it is reserved for housekeeping only. Upon request she may, if time allows, do small personal laundry but is not obligated to do this. Please understand that tips are appreciated for this additional work.  
 
Please note Casa Sunshine is not a luxury villa, as the furniture, finishes are modest at best. Compare to another 7 BR casual family villa in Guana Bay, Villa Alizee ...walk to beach...that rents for $7,000 (low season) to $8,500 (high season).
 
Villa Joelle is a deluxe villa in Anse Marcel (walk to beach)  with a 7 BR rate from $8,918 (low season)  - $12, 952 (high season).  This is a large house that offers up to nine bedrooms.
 
If you are looking for a super luxury beach front 7 BR consider villa L'Oasis, one of the finest luxury villas in the Caribbean with two pools, private gym and spa and chef included at $38,000 (low season) or $40,000 (high season).

Spacious and Secluded


This is a spacious house and is good for a large group. We were on a 5 day girlfriends trip and for some it was a first visit to St. Marteen. Transportation was provided to and from the airport and the drivers were very easy going and accommodating. The house is somewhat secluded so be prepared to drive. A small car was provided, we rented another car. The beach was not the best, lots of rocks and seaweed, not even great for walking. However,being on the water and listening to the ocean was a plus. Overall, the house seems to be a bit dated and could use upgrading,a small gym would be nice.The housekeepers came once during our stay and they did a good job. The property manager was there when we arrived and most issues were addressed,but we didn\'t see him again until the day of our departure. It would\'ve been nice to have received a follow up visit to make sure there were no other issues. We hired a chef, who was referred to us by the management company. Rhonda was delightful, very accommodating and I would highly recommend her services.

Paradise found!


We rented this villa for a family experience. The age range was 2 years to 70 years in age. We had an awesome time. Spent most of our time in the kiddy pool having adult beverages. The house has everything you could ask for. The beach is the Atlantic and if you are accustom to that you know what to expect. Made the biggest sandcastle ever with my grandson. What fun we had!!

Beautiful Home


Stayed here with family and friends. The house is beautiful, but does need a little work around the grounds. We were in the property during the hurricane in Oct 2014. The house did hold up(with some leaks). You do need transportation because it is away from the main areas. Pictures show the real beauty of the house. The beach is full of seaweed. TV\'s in every bedroom and living room. Cable and Wifi. Cell phone was provided for emergency if needed. We had a wonderful time. We hired a chef and steel drum players. It was a blast. Water pressure was good. Beds were good. Really surprised that more people have not rented this property.

GREAT HOUSE!


This was a great Vacation home. We had 5 couples stay and had more than enough room. Mr. Miller, who runs the house, came by several times during our stay to check on us. One evening one of the AC units went out, we called him, and he had an AC company there in 30 minutes to fix it. Super Service!!! The location of the house, in proximity to the rest of the island is just superb. All of us said this was one of our best vacations ever, and we will all be back!

Beach Gem


My husband and I were looking for a relaxing vacation with our son that required nothing but laying low and plenty of beach time. When my mother found this gem I knew that this was a place I would come back to year after year. This amazing home was just what we have been searching for. A wonderful home built right on the beach. The views were unbelievable to wake up to every morning. My family and I hardly left the grounds except to food shop. The place is maintained by a wonderful family who comes in every other day to check on the house and to clean. I will definitely be returning to Casa Sunshine and want to thank The Miller family for their hospitality.
