Description

The "Cedars" is a BEAUTIFUL and MODERN fully winterized lakeside cottage located just six feet from water's edge (Palmerston Lake). We offer a clean and cozy, smoke-free and pet-free cottage with an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING VIEW of the lake and sunsets!!
 
This one bedroom cottage sleeps four (Queen Bed in bedroom & Double pull-out couch in Living room) and has a Fully Equipped Kitchen, a Four Piece Washroom, Washer & Dryer, Glass Front Wood Stove, Satellite Television, VHS/DVD Player, WI FI Internet and Cell Phone service.
 
We also provide some board games and cards for family fun!! 
 
Heating of the cottage is by wood stove (wood provided) and/or electric baseboard heaters. 
 
EXTERIOR/OUTDOORS:
 
The large/private deck overlooks the lake.
Swimming in our private beachfront is safe and easily accessible for both children and adults.
There is a Public Boat Launch area close by and our large private dock is available for boat mooring, if required.
 
We include the following for your complimentary use during your stay:
Outdoor Fireplace (subject to local fire restrictions), Gas BBQ, Picnic Table, Canoe, Pedal Boat, Life Jackets and Swimming Accessories (noodles/floaties, etc.)
 
ABOUT THE AREA/LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
 
Palmerston Lake is a beautiful, pristine, fresh water, spring fed lake located right in the heart of the "Land 'O Lakes" area.
 
The lake itself is 4 km in length, with many scenic bays and coves.
 
It is 56 meters at its deepest point and offers some very good Bass and Trout fishing opportunities. Palmerston Lake is great for summer activities such as swimming, water skiing, boating, sailing, sea-dooing, kayaking, fishing and is also excellent for winter activities including snowmobiling, ATV riding, cross country skiing, hiking, ice fishing on nearby lakes and much more.
 
There is a Public Beach nearby (accessible by boat, automobile or walking).
 
Take advantage of the 4 km of nearby freshly marked and groomed hiking trails which lead to the "LOOKOUT" where you can enjoy spectacular views of Palmerston and Canonto Lakes.
 
ATV trails are also close by.
 
The area is recognized as a prime destination for Fall hunting activities.
 
The Town of Plevna offers a children's playground and an outdoor skating rink, complete with a heated shack, at the Clar-Mill Community Centre 1/2 km down the Buckshot Lake Road.
 
LOCAL SERVICES/SHOPPING:
 
Double "S" Sports & Marina is located in Ompah at the West end of Palmerston Lake - convenient for small motorboat rentals, fishing supplies and bait, movie rentals, basic grocery needs & more.
 
For your convenience, grocery shopping (Freshmart), restaurant, ice cream parlour, an LCBO and...a Bakery (open Spring to Fall) are all available within a 15 minute drive in the Town of Plevna.
 
There is also a Library next to the Fire Hall at the Ompah Community Centre.
 
COMMUNITY EVENTS/ACTIVITIES:
 
This year Double "S" Sports & Marina will be providing the following events in Ompah:
Spring ATV Run, forth Saturday in April
Fall ATV Run, third Saturday in September
Palmerston Lake Bass Fishing Derby, third weekend in June
Bass fishing opens mid-June on Palmerston Lake
Other dates/events will be added as they become available.

Off Season (Sep to Jun): Rates as low as $120/night (week days)
Off Season Weekends: $260 - 2 nights; Weekend SPECIAL: $325 - 3 nights
Holiday Weekends: 3 nights: $400; 2 nights: $300
Christmas Season: Dec. 21 - Jan. 1: $135 per night

Dave and Jane were very kind. Although they lived right next door they kept to themselves as did we. My fiancé and I spent a lovely long weekend here. The lake which can be viewed from the living room was breathtaking especially watching the sunset. We enjoyed every second of our peaceful getaway from the city. Was truly a memorable few days. Hope to be back again. Thank you Jane and Dave for your hospitality.

Great Vacation


Had an absolute amazing weekend away here. The cottage is just perfect, right on the water, so relaxing. It was so peaceful, the cool breeze coming in kept the cottage cool and comfortable. Jane and Dave (Hosts) were so sweet, they live on the property but you would never know it, it\'s like you are in your own little world out there. The use of their canoe made a fun afternoon as we ventured around a little island. The views were incredible, the sunset over the water was just breathtaking. The weekend away was just perfect. Easy to get to and so much privacy. We loved it there so much we are trying to co-ordinate our schedules so we can return in the fall.

What a great week!


arrived on the Friday aft in the rain, met Jane was very friendly, showed us around, we then proceeded to lite woodstove, cozy & warm, rest of the stay was warm & sunny, went into Perth, sat on deck, had the fire pit going, & relaxed. cottage has all the amenities, modern & clean. right on the waters edge, beautiful view from windows & deck of the lake, if u like quiet & peace, this will suit & calm the nerves, going back early Oct for a few days. Dave & Jane were kind & friendly!

Dave and Jane are wonderful hosts and own a beautiful, quaint and clean cottage. We stayed for four nights. Although Jane warned us about the weather, we decided to drive up during a snowstorm. Dave came and rescued us because our vehicle was stuck. They really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. This was our second time here, and we will definitely be back for another holiday sometime soon.
