Description

The Butternut Cottage is a four-season, ranch-style bungalow, located on the west-facing shore of Sturgeon Lake, about 15 minutes drive from Lindsay and 30 minutes from Peterborough. This spacious executive cottage is located on a quiet residential street, with homes on both sides. The road is kept clear all winter. The lake frontage is 100 feet; the water is 3' deep off the 32' dock. The water at the shoreline is shallow, with sand and pebbles.
 
The Cottage has four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. It is equipped with central air and an electric furnace with a heat pump. There is a gas fireplace in the living room and a pellet stove in the sunroom which are used for ambiance and to augment the central heating during cold winter days.
 
The sunroom contains a five-person hot tub and games area. East and west decks allow enjoyment of morning sun and spectacular sunsets.
 
The very workable lakeside kitchen includes side-by-side fridge, convection oven and stove, and dishwasher;  it is fully equipped to prepare traditional holiday dinners for eight guests. Meals can be enjoyed in the dining room, the breakfast room or on either deck.

$2400/week (High Season: 24 June to 8 Sept, 2017, Christmas & New Years)
$2100/week (Mid Season: 10 June to 24 June, 2017; 8 to 22 Sept 2017; Victoria Day, Thanksgiving)
$1800/week (Low season: balance of year)
$1250 for 3-night weekend and $950 for 2-night week-end in the low & mid-season

Lovely winter getaway!


We booked the Butternut Cottage as a base for skiing at Devil\'s Elbow. What a great spot! The place was clean and spacious and there was plenty of room for our family of five. The breathtaking westerly vistas and sunsets, the lovely fire place and the hot tub presented the perfect backdrop after an active day on the slopes. We recommend this to any family looking to getaway from the city and relax.

Perfect property, perfect experience


My family of five visited in late June. We were extremely pleased with the property and the location. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood within 15 minute proximity to a couple of towns with a mixture of quant stores and restaurants and modern conveniences. The property was exactly as described and pictured (except the snow!). The house was well equied and taken care of. Everything worked and there were no surprises. The whole rental experience (inquiry, reservesation, payment, arrival, and departure) was positive and couldn\'t have gone any smoother.

Fantastic Cottage


Stayed here in July 2010 and had a fantastic time! The cottage was spacious and well equipped with plenty of amenities. Backing onto the lake was really what sold us though. Beautiful sunsets and lazy days on the dock were exactly what we wanted. Great cottage experience! Also it was well situated. We wanted to avoid driving the 400 back to Toronto on a long weekend so the location wasideal for us.
