Further Down The Upstairs Hall Is Two More Large Bedrooms. One Has A Custom Queen-Size Bed With Luxurious Bedding, A Walk-In Closet, And The Third Bedroom Has A Double Size-Bed With Luxurious Bedding, And A Shared Bathroom Between Them.
 
On The Main Floor Is Another Custom King-Size Bedroom Overlooking The Pool. It Is Right Next To The Downstairs Guest Bathroom. The Open Floor Plan Of The Living Room Area Has Ample Comfy Seating, A 42 Inch HDTV, DVD’s, And A Few Games. It Has Access To The Expansive Sliding Glass Doors That Open Onto The Forty Foot Covered Terrace. From The End Of The Terrace Is Your Entry Through Double Glass Doors Into The Dining Room That Seats Six Comfortably. Absolutely Fabulous!


Our stay was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! It was great to have the space to roam and not step on each others feet, you could find a corner and just get lost in the surroundings, in bird song or watching or be by the pool. We cooked as an entire family (all 10 of us) and never once did the kitchen seem like it was closing in on us. The proximity to the highway and the town was great and very convenient for all our daily outings. The central location of the house helped us plan our tours around Costa Rica so much better. Piet & Yvonne are truly great, warm & inviting and so accommodating. And the Doughtys also helped put the cherry on top of our wonderful family vacation. Top Notch recommendations all around!

Our Experience at the Doughty Villa


What a great time we had. The house was everything that we expected. We had a nice time and did lots of things but my favorite thing to do was to sit out on the covered terrace and just look around at the beauty of it all. It truly is beautiful. The house had everything that we needed plus so much more. The owners are so sweet and thoughtful. They called to check on us, they had a welcome card with a bottle of wine and some munchies for us when we arrived after such a long day of travel. Dianne and Steve had a book of everything from fun things to do to every kind of info that you needed in town. We had no problem finding any place we went. And the best part was the Property managers Piet and Yvonne they are one of a kind. They were so helpful and they were there to help or answer any questions we had. We feel like we made friends with them. Piet has a band that plays once a month and we got to go to a local bar and grill to watch them. So entertaining and fun. It is a must if he is playing while you are there. And Yvonne was always there to be so helpful to us. She brought the best breakfast to us the next morning after we arrived. I highly recommend this property to anyone. We had such a great time that we bought a house and are moving there in the next four months. Atenas is the place to be!

Ideal Family Vacation Villa


Our family group of six spent the better part of a week at Villa Doughty early in the New Year. On arrival in Atenas, we were warmly greeted by Yvonne, who led us to the Villa and showed us around. The house, the grounds, flora and fauna, butterflies, hummingbirds, etc.. and the views in every direction are quite spectacular. We spent much time enjoying the pool, and found good restaurants close by after enjoying evening cocktails on the large balcony. The house is superbly equipped with every appliance and amenity imaginable . There isnt a single thing to find fault with I hope that we have the opportunity to return some day. Out thanks to the Doughtys and the Asmas for helping to make our vacation a memorable one.

This is an Amazing Villa! The Views Are Spectacular!


This house is wonderful, 4 beautiful bedrooms, Master with its own bathroom, super clean! The kitchen is stunning and it has everything you will need to prepare meals! We have no complaints, everything was in working order! We will recommend this house to anyone that is looking to stay in the Atenas Area!

Fantastic Villa


We had an amazing experience at Villa Doughty. We were three friends traveling together and of course this huge house was too big for the three of us, we could have been ten people. But the charm, the character, the top notch equipment provided in the villa was truly an asset. We had grocery in order to cook our own meals and have dinner on the veranda with spectacular views of Volcano Pos and the mountains surrounding. You will never be bothered by neighbors, it seems like youre all alone in Costa Rica. Its a good idea to have a car since the village is a couple of km/miles away. Quite frankly, we didnt want to leave this place. Even the great pictures dont reflect the quality of installations. Ive been traveling all over the world and this villa is certainly one of the greatest place Ive seen. And the hosts will do anything in their power to make your stay a memorable one. Thanks folks, I will spread the word around!

Pura Vida! Life Was Wonderful at Villa Doughty


Our group of ten 6 adults and 4 children had a wonderful time at Villa Doughty! Dianne, the owner, was very helpful from the very start of planning our family vacation. The villa was spacious, comfortable and beautiful. I enjoyed going out on the patio and the butterflies were a delight to see. The grounds were well kept and beautiful. Our children had fun in the pool. The kitchen was spacious and was stocked with the utensils we needed to cook our meals. The property management team was very friendly, nice, helpful and responded to our questions about places to visit, etc. They helped us with our car rental, and gave us useful and helpful tips. We hired Marian from that team to take us on a private tour of the volcano and the La Paz Waterfalls. She was excellent! It was a short car ride to town where we were able to go the grocery store, bank, park (across the church), souvenir shop, and the wonderful Popsice cream shop. We enjoyed going to the Farmers Market on the Friday that we were there. We had a great time in Costa Rica, and having a Lovely home like Villa Doughty made the stay even more wonderful! I can write more but you have to experience this home for yourself. I highly recommend the villa of Dianne and Steve Doughty. Pura Vida!
