If you ask anyone where to go view the northern lights, they will tell you to drive up Skyline Drive. The view is so beautiful. From the kitchen window, you can see all of Anchorage, the ocean, the Matanuska River, and several mountains, including the Sleeping Lady, and all of that, from this lower unit apartment.
It is located up the mountain, which means you may need 4 wheel drive, if it is icy in the winter.
The unit itself has one bedroom, with a king size bed. There is cable with 2 flat screen TV's, and WiFi. The living room is comfortable, with two recliners and a sofa. We have a queen size blow up, a twin bed, and a portable crib in storage for our guests to use if necessary.
The blinds are "black out" blinds that can be dropped from the top for privacy, while allowing light or they can be lifted completely for enjoyment of the magnificent view.
The large gourmet kitchen is fully fitted with dishes and stocked with some simple things like spice, olive oil, and condiments.
The bathroom has a relaxing double ended claw foot tub, (two people can sit in the tub together) as well as, a separate shower.
The entire unit is furnished with beautiful Native Alaskan and Native American art and brings a sense of relaxation and serenity. It is a wonderful place for romance, as well.

a house with a perfect panorama


Dream house, dream panorama with dream owners. If you have only a few days in Anchorage to stay, this place is a must. I did not want to leave the mornings because I enjoyed staying there so much.

View is gorgeous! Very cozy home and fully equipped.


Enjoyed our stay tremendously! Like home away from home. Apartment is fully equipped with everything you need, especially a full sized kitchen. The view is breathtaking, with a grill and deck area to sit and enjoy the sunset. The house is located on the side of mountain, a nature lovers dream come true :). Close to many main attractions and easy access to major roadways, grocery stores and restaraunts. Owners are wonderful people, couldn\'t have found a better place to stay.

We had a great time the place was awesome. The view was fantastic right from the kitchen window. Carrie and Dave were great people very friendly and informative. Will definitely be getting in touch with them for my next trip to Alaska.

Amazing views & beautifully decorated


We stayed in this basement apartment for a week while in the process of relocating out of state. The owners did an amazing job converting this walkout basement into an apartment; it has its own separate entrance, the finishes are top of the line, the layout makes great use of the space, and the artwork is fantastic. The kitchen is full sized and wouldn\'t be out of place in a regular home. Having laundry facilities was tremendously convenient for our family of 3. The soaking tub in the bathroom is just stunning and in all fairness, the entire bathroom was beautifully done. Because this property is up on a hillside, the views of the mountains and inlet are unobstructed. The kitchen island is also set up to be the dining table and while enjoying our meals we could look straight out the windows at the mountains. The owners thoughtfully equipped the entire unit with blackout shades for all the windows, which is much appreciated in the Alaskan summer when the sun only goes down for about 3 hours at night. We highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a place to relax and unwind.
