Description

Our holiday travel home rental has maintained it's rustic, traditional, cottage style, historical feel and is an ideal getaway. For whatever reason you may find yourself in our neck of the woods, for salmon-fishing, a simple stopover in Gaspé, to discover Forillon Park , a business trip, or for a traditional getaway to Gaspesie, we are here to help your stay in our magnificent region be one of your most memorable and enjoyable. Built in 1837, the architecture of the house was inspired by the anglo-normand style "Cottage Regency". During this period, the influencial citizen and entrepreneur Mr. John Leboutiller was the owner.

Subsequently, a Mr. Antoine Painchaud, a land surveyor and the Vice-Consul of Spain acquired the house. Between 1867 and 1881 when Gaspé was the fresh water port of the Atlantic, this vacation travel house rental was the Spanish consulat. Mr. Painchaud is reponsible for the numerous land surveys of the gaspé peninsula. In 1885 this lovley vacation house rental was handed over to Mr. Charles Sutton Lebouthiller, an insurance agent, for the sum of 1500 "piastres"*. After the death of Mr. Sutton, his daugter Gertrude lived in the house until her death in 1984. We are pleased to welcome you and count you among our invited guests. We hope that you will feel at home in our home, a landmark of the Gaspesie landscape.
