Frank Baum's mother was Cynthia Stanton; she and her new husband Ben Baum, lived here at Stanton House with her parents when they were first married. As a child, little 'Frankie' came back often to visit with his grandparents. We are sure that when you see the spectacular views and beautiful scenery, you will be convinced that you have seen the inspiration for Oz. Stanton House is 10 minutes from Cazenovia, and 25 minutes from Hamilton (Colgate), and Syracuse. Stanton House is a very large 1860's farm house. Continental breakfast is served every morning which includes fresh baked goods, and different varieties of house specialities.
We have 3 rooms available, one with a private bath, the others share a bath. Rates range from $175 to $125.
One night\'s deposit is required to reserve a room, cash or check please,(make checks payable to Maria Doan). Refunds will be made if 48 hours notice is given in advance. Check out time is 11:00 AM.
