Sleeps: 8The dream and vision for Prairiewood began over 10 years ago. It all started with a simple vision for saving some of the native tallgrass prairie landscape in and around Manhattan, Kansas. Along the way, we became more and more compelled by the idea of using the prairie to provide a place where the values of the land can find their way into the hearts and souls of its visitors–a place where the senses are awakened, perspective is renewed, and imagination is inspired. We have worked diligently over the past five years to bring together all the pieces for such a place. We have acquired land surrounded by native prairie ecology, created exquisite accommodations and meeting space, blazed miles of walking trails, and assembled a staff of tremendous individuals. Now, after officially opening in January of 2010, the next chapter of our story is just beginning.
