Description

Grace Cottage, built of brick under a tiled roof,2 BR Vacation Home Rental is situated in the centre of the peaceful village of Sydling St. Nicholas. It is a charming cottage standing in a flint-walled garden and nearby is the village pub where good food is served at lunch time and in the evening.

The cottage sleeps four/five. Upstairs are the bathroom and two pretty bedrooms built under the eaves – the views from the windows are lovely. Downstairs is a large lounge/dining room with colour TV with DVD and video, a study, shower room and loo, and a large kitchen with an eating area overlooking the garden. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

The village of Sydling St. Nicholas is one of the most beautiful in West Dorset. It is a Conservation Area, and the main street, with its peaceful stream and thatched cottages, appears ageless. The countryside is excellent for walking with many footpaths and bridleways over chalk hills and through hidden valleys. It is an ideal touring centre and the coast is 25 minutes away by car. Guidebooks and maps showing bridleways, footpaths and places of interest are available for guests to borrow during their stay. For those familiar with the novels and poetry of Thomas Hardy there is much to see, including the villages and countryside he portrayed so well.
