This secluded prairie-style cottage is within walking distance of Mineral Point on the adjacent bike trail. It is well-suited for friends vacationing together, for family vacations or for couples. It will accommodate six people. The main floor, accommodating two, may be rented alone. The lower floor with two bedrooms and a bath, will accomodate 4 and may be rented as an additional package. For your complete privacy and enjoyment the cottage is rented to only one party at a time. The main floor has a bedroom with a queen bed, a fully-equipped kitchen, a living/dining room with a large stone gas fireplace, and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi and shower. You are surrounded by original art work, books, and textiles in a home furnished with antiques and rustic furniture. For your convenience there is wifi, tv, and central air conditioning.
From a hilltop, the cottage looks out of a stand of burr oak across 18 acres of prairie to a panoramic view of southwest Wisconsin’s beautiful rolling farmland. In spring migrating birds stop to visit the pond and in summer a chorus of frogs sings you to sleep at night. Bring your binoculars! You will be surrounded by deer, coyote, wild turkey, pheasant, blue heron and many species of smaller birds. Bring your telescope – the stars are very visible here in the country. You can walk the trails, gather vegetables from the garden, wander to the creek for a picnic, lounge in the hammock, play croquet on the lawn, fly kites form the hilltop, relax on the patio, bird-watch, all only three minutes from Mineral Point where you will find interesting restaurants, artists, galleries and historic buildings.
Deposits and Cancellations: Deposit equal to 50% of total will be charged upon acceptance of reservation, balance due the day of check-in. Customers paying with a check or cash must pay the entire amount at the time the reservation is made. No refund for early departures. Refund will be made on cancellations received 20 days prior to reservation date, minus $50.00 cancellation fee. If a last minute cancellation is necessary and the suite can be re-rented, your fee will be returned minus the $50.00 cancellation fee. If it can not be rented the full amount will be charged.
Rates: $159.00 per night, upper floor accommodates 2. Living/dining area with rustic stone gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen area, 1 bedroom with queen bed, bath with whirlpool, patio with picnic table. Use of 18-acre property. $100.00 per night, additional lower suite accommodates 4: 2 bedrooms, one with king bed, one with double bed. Bath, patio. May be rented only in combination with upper suite.
